question: what do you guys garrison the minor settlements with, or do you?

i am currently garrisoning each minor with at least one unit, this seems to keep the trator factor down when the foreign ambassadors are around trying to bribe

I don't as most are close enough to cities to be rescued in a turn or two.I also control all of Italy but Patavium now so the south is on lock down unless they attack from the sea.

that makes sense, on average how many units do you keep in the southern cities?

3-4 I think I'd have to check

I need at least one unit in each town, because otherwise Brigands appear and knick them. Every. Damn. Time.
