DUE TO THE FACT THAT YOU CAN'T PLAY ACTUAL BATTLES (game crashes when you start a custom battle or a fight on the campaign map) THIS MOD IS A FAILURE UNLESS YOU WANT TO AUTORESOLVE EVERYTHING. I WON'T PUT IT UP, SOMEONE PLEASE DELETE THIS THREAD. What a waste of time :/
After long summer months adding new regions to Vanilla... I present the finished product.
The Longevity Wars
Why the longevity wars? Wars last a long time with this many regions.
The starting regions:
Ranging from Mexico to the Balkans and from Brazil to Scandinavia, regions have been added.
There are around 195 regions. There is a limit to regions you can add (cap at 199) so this is... pushing it.
I tried adding regions to Russia, but I got cut off at 215 or so.
This mod features:
Anglo-Portuguese alliance at game start
Friendly relationship - not to be confused with an alliance - between Spain and Portugal. This is so the AI chooses to fight the Moors out of Iberia before turning on each other, so it's historical.
The French are a rising superpower at the time period, and you will find that is reflected in this mod.
The Aztecs are harder to conquer with their cities more numerous than before.
The English have the potential to own more land in northern France - they start with an army near rebel cities in northern France.
The HRE is much larger than in Vanilla.
Milan doesn't backstab you as often as before. Since there are more cities on the islands west of Italy, they go for those first, so you don't have to deal with their antics.
Scandinavia is open to not only Denmark, but England and Scotland too.
England gets more money per turn in the form of King's Purse, because after 1066 the Normans increased the economic system (via taxation) in England.
Please note, I added regions to this mod using historical maps.
Install instructions:
For some reason I found this doesn't work unless you completely remove Medieval 2 from your computer, re-install it, and install the mod...
1. Go to control panel and select "uninstall a program"
2. Uninstall Medieval 2 and delete the SEGA folder from Program Files.
3. Insert game disk and install the game.
4. Install patch 1.2 (someone try it on 1.3 please, I designed it on 1.2 and don't know if it works on 1.3 or 1.5)
5. Create a folder in your Medieval 2 folder named "mods"
6. Copy and paste my mod into that folder.
