The aim this thread is to provide a small and concise set of facts about each nation and what they are all about. This will hopefully give players an idea of who would make good potnetial allies, who could be enemies, and a generally better feel of the game. If you want your nation to be included in this, (which I strongly encourage) please post in this format:

Nation's name: Das Königreich von Köln
Location: Northern Germany

Faction Leader: König Johannes II
A generally large man, Johannes appears rugged and savage like one with roots in the East baltic might. His messy black hair and beard make him look a little wild, but he carries himself with all the grace and confidence one would expect from one of Europe's most powerful Kings. He is very wise and diplomatic, but does have a short temper, and is often angered by his half-brother, Jacob.
Key people:
Prinz Jacob: Half-brother of the König, he has always been seeking the crown for himself. The two despise each other, and barely ever talk. Despite a slim build, he is very strong and athletic, and both a better fighter and commander than his brother. He is incredibly sly and cunning, and will happily resort to nasty tactics to accomplish his goals. He feels his father, the last König, prefered him to Johannes.
Prinz Thoman: Son of Johannes and heir to the throne, Thoman is young and inexperienced but every inch the perfect Prince. He is an excellent fighter and always has an air of supreme confidence about him. He is honest, smart and cunning. He is also very pious and popular with the common folk.

Stances towards other nations: Allied with Crusader states, through marriage, devout followers of the Papal States.
Dislike most muslim nations.
Complex relationship with Regnum Brittania - many centuries ago, our people were good friends, though recently we have been neutral. The mother of Prinz Jacob, Margaret (who the current König hates for, in his eyes, stealing the last König, Peter, from his own mother Els) is from the Saxon Kingdom of England, sworn enemies of Regnum Britannia, so he favours Britannia.
Other interesting information:
Houses the Order of St. Boniface, a knightly order determined to push Paganism out of Eastern Europe. The most elite soldiers in Köln's military are Knights of St. Boniface.
Royal family is descended from the Dukes of Livonia, Saxons living in the East Baltic from about 600-1000 A.D.
Samanid Empire
Nation's name: Samanid Empire
Location: Afghanistan, Chromasia, Bactria.

Known as "the Just Commander" by the people and a patron of the arts. He is the man that has finnaly wrested control and peace to the region since his predecessors' reign.

Stances towards other nations: Skeptical of those to the west but willing to listen.
Other interesting information: The eastern realm of the Sassanian that withheld the Arab onslaught yet converted to Islam.
Kingdom of Nabudis
Nation's name: Kingdom of Nabudis
Location: Spain(Kingdoms of Castille and Aragon), Mediterrean Islands

Selene II : Oldest of the three children born to the last monarch. Depises Moors, as all Nabudis Monarchs have done since the fall of the old Kingdom to the Arab Caliphate and traitor Berbers. Usually very polite and cheerful to diplomats.
Key people:
High Chancellor Crystal Solidor- The Queen's younger sister. The middle child of the three, carefully watched by nearly everyone in the Court due to the belief she is still plotting against her sister along with the Duke of Valencia.
Lord Admiral Victarion Soldior- Youngest of the three, loves sailing. Looks alot like the last King of Nabudis with dirty blonde hair, being slightly taller than most men.

Royamue du Francais- Allies. The two nations have had good relations for years, and renewed the Old Alliance between the two Kingdoms from when the Moors were far more powerful and at the border of France.
Portugal- Strongly Disliked- A threat to Nabudis that occassionaly will cooperate with the Kingdom for short periods of time. Main issue is over Galacia.
Other interesting information:
The Royal Family are descended from Vandallic nobility from Nabudis when it ruled Tunisia and a good portion of North Africa along with the Mediterrean Islands.
The Khaganate of Khazaria
Nation's name: The Khaganate of Khazaria
Location: Southern Russia and modern Ukraine
Faction Leader: Khagan Jacob Bulan, 31. Kept a policy of tolerance for non-Jews in Khazaria. This was criticized by much of the Conservative Jewish community, spearheaded by Ben Haveni. Has plans for expansion into Russia and Central Asia.
Key people: Queen Rebecca, 29. Supported her husband's tolerance policies and her diplomatic finesse stopped the Greek Revolt of 1093 from occuring.
Crown Prince Joseph, 12. Only a child, he is growing increasingly under the influence of Haveni and other conservative elements.
Rabbai Ben Haveni, Chairman of the Bek, 44. A conservative Jew, he wishes to convert the Orthodox population of the Khaganate to Judaism by any means. Although he is opposed to the current ruler, he is a superb administrator, and so the Bek elects him Chairman every term.

Faction Leader: Dom Joăo I
Joăo conquored the Throne of Portugal many years before, fighting off the Moors from the once County of Portugal. He is a very pios man, who loves his homeland and his God as if it was part of himself. He can be very cruel to his enemies, but is generally a very diplomatic person, who tries always to make friends over foes. Joăo is not very tall, nor seems to be the strongest of men, but his eyes are strong and impering, fit for one who conquored himself a throne, who wasn't born in one.

Other interesting information: The Kings of Portugal have always had a great interest in sailing and maintain strong investment in its navy, so that it maintains itself as the strongest in the world.
Second Bulgarian Empire
Nation's name: Second Bulgarian Empire
Location: In the Romanian area, above Serbia

Key people: Kaloyan the Romanslayer and his son, Boris, who is the heir. Working on the women.
Capital city: Tarnvono
Dominant ethnicity: Bulgar with some Serbians and Greeks
Dominant religion: Orthodox Church, Catholic Church rising in strength, however
Stances towards other nations: Serbia- Unfriendly, border tension. Greco-Roman Empire- Hostile, previous grievances.
Other interesting information: Born out of the ashes of the Bulgar Khanate, may convert to Catholicism
