    Default WW1 mods

Hey guys, I was poking around on the Internet for a few mods for the aging Battlefield 2, when lo and behold, I find a World War 1 Mod.

    http://www.moddb.com/mods/no-mans-land5

That is the flaw in your theory, gentlemen and I will not help you out of it. If you choose to deal with men by means of compulsion, do so. But you will discover that you need the voluntary co-operation of your victims, in many more ways than you can see at present. And your victims should discover that it is their own volition - which you cannot force - that makes you possible. I choose to be consistent and I will obey you in the manner you demand. Whatever you wish me to do, I will do it at the point of a gun. If you sentence me to jail, you will have to send armed men to carry me there - I will not volunteer to move. If you fine me, you will have to seize my property to collect the fine - I will not volunteer to pay it. If you believe that you have the right to force me - use your guns openly. I will not help you to disguise the nature of your action. -Hank Rearden

This is another promising WW1 mod for a great Real Time Strategy game, Company of Heroes, called The Great War: 1918. Here's a link:http://www.moddb.com/mods/the-great-war-1918

World War 1: Source was also a good mod, at least until it was wrecked by a few members of the Dev team and abandoned. Yes, the graphics were subpar, the rifles less accurate than the muskets in Battlegrounds (another source mod that takes place during the American Revolution) and officer artillery was a bit OP, but still the game had its quirks and fun moments, like the famous source ragdoll effects hurling bodies across the map after a grenade explosion. Also, I loved leading charges and setting up defensive positions to ambush the enemy as an officer during Realism games.

i got RO2 and at times it does feel like WW1, especially when 2 people meet eachother in 1 room with bolt action rifles.... atleast a 2 minute firefight at 5 metres.
The US will gladly step up to become the world police when there is oil involved, yet they will resign the second there is a genocide in Africa, a slaughter in an allied nation, or a massacre committed by dictators, all who's nations have nothing to offer, but the gratitude of the people to the international community for reaching out.

WWI Source has/had a small active community. That is until that last server went down, don't know if it came back though :/

The mod for RO2 is: http://www.ironeuropegame.com/news.php
Doesn't appear much progress is being made, though.

Battlefield 1918 dies out really quickly in terms of fun. It's really unfinished and is just pretty much everyone with Bolt Actioned Rifles.

In RO2, as far as im concerned, you get that really awkward moment when 2 people with bolt action rifles meet eachother in a room, its like a contest to see who can shoot more bullets out quicker

I'm still holding out for this mod. The WW2 version is fantastic, especially with the BotMod thing. Since its on my mind though, I found the game you're looking for with plenty of bloodshed for both sides; BF2 with the Alpha Project mod.

problem with bf2 is the engine is a bit outdated, there is no physics and they just increase spread in most mods.
