Can't edit Shared.sd

The title isn't technically true, i can, it just crashes the game. Basically what i want to do is add a new entry that points to a new small logo for a new faction but no matter what i do, it causes a crash at the start or fails to generate the shared.sd file so loads of the ui images are missing ingame. I have incremented the sprite count at the top and the new logo is on an edited file (i replaced an unused icon) so there's no way the image can't be located. Any ideas? I can upload the file if that helps but to me it looks fine, any addition or edit seems to crash the game

Ok so it seems that the game will not generate a shared.sd file from the shared.sd xml file that's there, but it did it perfectly for strategy.sd?

Even if i edit the file then change it back it causes a ctd. I still have no idea what the story is, could the xml be corrupt and be a completely different issue?

Here it is, i've since figured out that the line "LKsharedpage_01.tga" near the top seems to cause the error, if that's removed the file generates (but crashes if the references to the image aren't removed) otherwise there's a ctd.

Atm my only option is to redo all 20 something small faction logos, a massive task considering all i want to do is add/edit a single line to give a small faction logo to my new faction.

Ah, then it's beyond me. I thought it might have just been a bad XML structure or wrong end of line characters.

I reckon if i could get Alpacas sd converter to work it might solve the problem, since it's probably the game that's having the problem of converting, the converter might be a little more robust. The annoying thing is the strategy.sd worked fine first time when i did the same thing (pretty much the same anyway).

then maybe you accidentaly mistyped something ...i had the same problems with battle.sd (xml) and battlepage_04 ...i guess they have the same mechanincs...so take a look here and see if something comes to mind http://www.twcenter.net/forums/showt...8#post10052508

also ,maybe you should try
with a "clean" sd and your edited sd.xml

if none of these solves it then , maybe a friend of yours can try and see if it generates in another pc / installation and if it does, send you back the correctly generated sd....
for what mod is it ? TA ?

Thanks, i'll have a look at those when i get a chance. It's for the Last Kingdom, a great mod but i wanted ireland to be a bit more interesting so i'm trying to add another irish faction. The shared.sd and changing the symbol_oneill.cas are all that's left to do

but of course they don't want to cooperate.

To generate the SD file all the referenced TGA files have to present in their ui subfolders (or in the pack). That includes the LKsharedpage_01.tga file.

I can make you a CAS file for the settlement strat symbol, give me the details (full faction name) in the dev forum.

I have come across a SD generation problem before and usually solve it by using my Bare Geomod set up - transfer the files needed there and then edit the associated XML files.
