How to remove mercenaries from campaign?

Currently I've been modding my Stainless Steel 6.4 and I've wanted to remove some mercenary units in order to change them into units for other factions but I have no idea how to remove the mercenaries from the campaign map. If I changed a mercenary unit into another unit for a faction then that unit would actually still be in the mercenary recruitment pool on the campaign map.

If you want to take them out of the mercenary recruitment pools, then just go into descr_mercenaries and remove them from all of the pools.
