    Default how do you change a BI faction's starting provinces?

    how can you change the starting provinces of a faction in BI (i.e. have the lombards start with athens) ? there are guides for vanilla RTW but not for BI any help?

    Well you just need to edit the BI descr_strat.txt found in bi\data\world\maps\campaign\imperial_campaign

    That one differs a little from the normal RTW descr_strat. Can be confusing when its your first time modding.

    Changing starting provinces in RTW and BI hasn't changed at all.
    So to give the Lombards Achaea province (it's the province with Athens as capital) you need to cut the text that describes Achaea province in descr_strat from the East Empire and paste it to the part of Lombards, then move Gnaeus Flavius and his army from Athens to somewhere else like near Constantinople - coordinates are x 159, y 73, and if you want you can move to Athens one of your armies - coordinates for Athens are x 144, y 52.
