    Default N00b question, Pack File Manager

    Hi friends,
    it's been a lot that I didn't write here, I stopped modding tw games from my Heraldry Mod of Medieval 2, I skipped completely ETW and now I'm stuck with STW2..

    my question in simple, I'm trying to mod the value that Realm Divide affects the diplomacy every turn (I know there are many mods but I'm try to figure out why I cannot figure out...)

    So.... basically...

    1. I extracted the interested table from the latest pack
    2. I put it on a folder on my desktop keeping the correct structure (db/diplo..bla bla bla)
    3. I create a new MOVIE pack and I added that directory
    4. I change the value, renaming the table and save the pack

    but apparently.. it didn't affect my game...
    I cannot find a proper PFM instructions on forums so I wondering what is my error..

    And another question.. the initial message "Make packed files relative to..." what means? I must specify S2 dir or it simply used for the file extraction?

    Thanks in advance

    Yes, you must make the pack relative to the data directory.

    this is because you need to go to the scripts folder and tell it to run the mod.

    I use xp and it's found C:\Documents and settings\USER\Application Data\The Creative Assembly\Shogun 2\Scripts

    If you do NOT have a scripts folder, you will need to create one. From there you will find 2 files. Preferences.script.txt and user.script.txt

    Open the user.script and enter:

    mod "THE NAME OF YOUR MOD HERE.pack";

    for example if you use AUM-SHO unit mod it looks like this:

    mod "aum_sho_mod.pack";

    If this doesn't work let us know.

    It is easier to make sure your pack file is "movie" type using PFM. Then you do not need to worry about a scripts folder. If you have only one, or a few mods which do not conflict, this is good enough.

    thank you all, freinds...
    I discovered that the problem was not the mod, but the objective.. I was trying to alter the post-Realm Divide Malus. Apparently, if you apply the mod it affects only the new games, not the saved ones.
    I had the confirmation noticing that even other mods affecting it made by the community had the same results.

    Thank you again friends
