Can't Save or Load

I have returned to playing RSII after a long break. I just realized that i cannot save or load, these options are greyed out in the campaign. I searched the forum and tried everything in the previous threads that deal with this problem but nothing has worked. I deleted maprwm, I exited the campaign and restarted RSII. I don't understand, when I last played this, it was working just fine...is there any way I can fix this without hoaving to delete and reinstalling the whole thing? Thanks

Use the option at the bottom of the start screen to delete the map file.

Do you mean the one in the launcher? I did that already and it did not work.

You do have to actually start the game and make an actual save, just in case you have not done so. If you have recently updated the game, then you will not be able to use previous saves as far as I know.

I did start a brand new game game...but I can't save, that is the problem. I wanted to quit after playing for a while, but the save button was greyed out and I could not click on it.

Apart from deleting the file manually, I don't have any more knowledge on the matter for you. Afraid you will have to wait for one of the mod designers. I assume you have a key set for 'Quicksave', (Control-S default) have you tried that?

see this thread post#2. It's as element said, you have to start a game, close, delete map.rwm and start again. Don't do anything in the first start as it will be lost.

None of the solutions worked for me. I just had to reinstall it, after that it was fine. It is just very starnge that initially the save/load functions worked, and then they stopped suddenly. Anyway thanks for all the help guys.
