    Default Two completely opposite traits.

    I'm sure not only I noticed that family members gain completely opposite traits and that they are gaining them very often (Stainless Steel 6.4). The most popular ones in my games are "wife is charming +1 popularity" together with "wife is arrogant -1 popularity" (or something like that) and "Has King's Eye" and "Leader pays no attention". Why something like that happen? And do you work on fixing that?

    Well if he cut out and took the king's eye, it seems quite obvious why the king wouldn't care too much for him.

    @kevindrosario: Nice one!

    Well, I guess it's because it can't be modded so that contradicting traits wouldn't occur.

    Family members and generals can get "Has King's Eye" if they are around the capital for a couple of turns. "Leader pays no attention" is a global trait granted to many FM/generals (if not to all) once your King gets "AbsentMinded" trait.

    Hm...
    I don't know about other contradictions
    but I think someone who is charming being arrogant is quite realistic,
    isn't it?^^:

    It's difficult to meet someone who knows they are pretty and still are modes in character t

    I just did a bit of quick looking through the triggers for the traits, and it seems the reason that you can have both "The King's Eye" and have "Leader Pays No Attention" is because the first trait is based on the general and how close he is to the capital. The second trait is based on the king and whether or not he has the AbsentMinded trait. So it seems that they are not related to each other, which makes it possible for both of them to happen at the same time.

    As far as charm and arrogance go, I don't think they're necessarily mutually exclusive in real life. So they don't really need to be in-game either.

    Edit: Maybe it would be better if it were added to the AbsentMindedGeneral trigger a condition that required him to not have the "King's Eye" trait.

    As long as they are not in the exact same trait line, you can have any combination of traits. The pairs you listed are not in the same trait line, and so can exist together.

    I don't think they necessarily have to be in the same trait line for them to be mutually exclusive in-game. You can use conditions on the triggers to make them mutually exclusive.
