Can't Get Map Information Twice...

I'm having a slight problem. Early during my Late Era campagin I got map Information from pretty much all worthy factions, and now about 80 turns later- although the map has changed drastically, I can't get it again...

I ask for:

Offer:
Map Information
Demand:
Map Information

And they change it to

Offer:
xxx Denars
Demand:
Map Information

Even with HRE whom I have married my princesses with all their faction heirs from the start and have the highest of relation with- I can't get a renewed bloody Map Information, no matter how much I offer in gold.

Help me Obi-Wan Kenobi, you're my only hope.

The AI usually refuses if you dont offer a good amount of money to give Map Info. Try puting a couple of thousands, or ofering with the "Ceasefire+Trade Rights" Combo

Yes, what Diablo said. Its not that theres a glitch that they wont give map info, they just get very very stingy about it as the game progresses.

Actually the AI refuses giving map information if their map hasn't changed.

This would make sense as well, but I have made sure they their maps have changed before I asked.

Every time their map information hasn't changed and I've asked for it, they have that barely disagreed thing. Don't know if that's your case.

1. approach with diplomat.
2. offer nothing / demand map info.
3. ???
4. profit.

they'll appreciate your being straightforward and either ask some strange amount(2,360 or something), or flat out refuse for their own reasons.

every faction gives you map info very cheap the first time but gets harder to get it again . i remember i used to pay something like 8k to 10k after about 150 turns . how much their map has changed seems to be a factor but even then no one will refuse if you pay them a high price ( i think ) . if they say they're not interested try again next turn with more money

i don't care for map info early on, really. i send my diplo on council of noble missions or to confront neutral armies that decide to hang out on my turf. i leave the map info collection for my princesses.
