is there a Tutorial about making a texture for merged model?
is there a Tutorial about making a texture for merged model?
"And indeed We created man (Adam) out of an extract of clay (water and earth). Thereafter We made him (the offspring of Adam) as a Nutfah (mixed drops of the male and female sexual discharge) (and lodged it) in a safe lodging (womb of the woman). Then We made the Nutfah into a clot (a piece of thick coagulated blood), then We made the clot into a little lump of flesh, then We made out of that little lump of flesh bones, then We clothed the bones with flesh, and then We brought it forth as another creation. So blessed be Allah, the best of creators. After that, surely, you will die. Then (again), surely, you will be resurrected on the Day of Resurrection. And indeed We have created above you seven heavens (one over the other), and We are never unaware of the creation." (QS. Al-Mu'minun (23):12-17)

I don't think.
On the other hand, to create texture will depend if you simply merge models without modifying them or if you merge models and modify theirs shapes.
If you simply merge models or slightly modify them, you can use the Texture Coordinate editor from MilkShape.
If you modify or create models you will need a Unwrapped Map editor like Ultimate Unwrap 3D because you will need to create a new UVMap to place textures.

I'm not sure perhaps this tutorial.

ProvostGuard's tutorial is about merging models, he don't speak about textures.
When merging models, you have 2 "problems" :
- merging models mean merging UVMap (and textures) too ;
- modifying model's shape mean that current UVMap will not be accurate anymore ;
Is the first case, you will "only" have to select vertex group UVMap using Texture Coordinate Editor and move it to a new place.
In the second case, you will have to create a new UVMap and Texture Coordinate Editor is a bit limitated to to that. It is possible but time consuming and really boring.
Moreover, you will have to rework 3 textures files according to the new UVmap :
- diffuse
- gloss_map
- normal
Flikitos and I have a project to create tutorials about textures and modeling, but it will take time.
On the other hand, it is very important to create them, it could be a good help for beginners and TWC need new moders to keep mods alive.
As you can see, we are far from a tutorial release...
Spoiler Alert, click show to read:
