Default Is there a way to...

    Hello to everyone!

First I would like to congratulate the dev for the great mod which is Third age Total War! Keep on the good job!

Second I have a little question...

Currently I am playing the original version 2.1 without changes or submods installed, I would like to know if there is a chance to play both the original one and a submod together.

I tried to copy the TATW folder in another place (desktop) and Installing inside (.../desktop/TATW) the new submod I chose but I did not understand how to make it works correctly.

Can someone help me and explain me step by step how to play both original and submod together? if possible of course

    Thanks in advance
    Vankar

I'm pretty sure this is possible, but not quite sure how to explain it. I can say though that some submods offer an uninstaller, like Baron Samedi's submod compilation. So if you ever wanted to go back to vanilla 2.1 it would be as simple as running the uninstaller.

I know about the uninstaller but it is not what I want... I want to have the possibility to play both at the same time, like having two icons on the desktop, one for the orginal TATW and one for the submode...

    OK instructions:
Make a copy of you Third age folder (with barons compilation)
Paste it in Medieval II total war/mods
It will probably be called Third_Age - Copy
Now use the uninstaller of Baron Samedi
    Install Frome
Ok now rename the folder Third_Age - Copy to Third_Age_BS
go into that folder and edit Third_Age.bat with notepad
In notepad you wil see a line with something like:

    Kingdoms.exe mods/Third_Age

    Rename it to:

    Kingdoms.exe mods/Third_Age_BS

Now create a shortcut of the bat file on desktop and you have a dual install!

It didnt work... now i have in both folders FROME INSTALLED...

    Here what I did

    1) create a copy of TATW, called TATW COPY
    2) use BS uninstall in the original TATW
    3) install FROME
    4) rename the TATW - COPY into TATW - BS
    5) enter in TATW - BS folder and search for Third_Age.bat
    6) Tha .Bat file i found is not possible to modify and it is the file which makes the game start
    7) I entred the game and noted that is FROME
    8) quit
    9) look for another file and I found TATW.CFG
    10) open it and search for a line with "Kingdoms.exe mods/Third_Age"
    11) i did not find any line like that....

    12)...needing help...

Dont know if it may help ypu.. I have Windows 7

ok now there two different folders: one is called "Third_Age" and the other one "Third_Age_BS"

I enter in the Third_Age_BS and open the file Third age.bat

I modify the text and it appears as

    cd ..\..
    start kingdoms.exe @mods\Third_Age_BS\TATW_BS.cfg

I saved it and enter the game...

as always it runs as FROME

    DONE IT!
There had to be modified the .cfg file too!

first line must look like the following:

    [features]
    editor = true
    mod = mods/Third_Age_Bs
