What happens if Merula is away fighting when the elections are held? Does Poplicola and him stay consuls for this term cause of the war? or do they have to come home...
Manius Julius Scaevola for Praetor.
Predictor of AAR Plot Points and a wannabe forum ninja
¬_¬ One day, one day you shall be converted! That day you shall look back on that post and laugh at your ignorance.
Marcus Sergii Lucanus for Consul
I JUST WANTED TO GO INTO SPACE!
You Are The Senate
Marcus Atrius Merula for Pro Consul Sicilia et Sardinia
Or, in the case that we dont win at Lilybaeum (), just Consul again
![]()
Aulus Lucinius Caldius for Tribune.
Just remember that you have to come back to Rome to be given the 'office' by the plebeians, if you don't return from Greece your runner-up gets it. I'm going to assume that there will be no more sign-ups, I'll put up the election thread at midnight or so.
Roman elective law demands that a candidate must be in Rome in order to claim an election won. Otherwise your runner-up wins.
Edit: Dragoon beat me to it.

Faustus will stand for Tribune again.
Rabble rousing, Pleb Commander CK23
Aulus never actually left Rome, it's like that episode of Blackadder where he fools the king into thinking he's gone to France by sitting in the cellar for a week.
This will be the fourth time, you're only supposed to hold the same office twice back to back.Faustus will stand for Tribune again.

Spurius walks back into the Curia, this time carrying a large staff to aid his walking, something he hadn't needed when he had left. The *clap* of the staff against the marble floor is heard long before he comes into view.
Spurius Geminius Scaeva for Praetor.
Spurius grins at the astounded Senators. A grin not of happiness but more like a grin that one would show when hurting a personal enemy. Spurius had just broken another tradition and law, ignoring the time required before re-running for a magistracy.
That should keep the bastards off my back for a while he thought, I still need to finish preparations, and if they want to get to me before the end of the election, they shall have to break the law themselves.
With those few words he turns and walks back out of the Curia, probably straight back to where he came from. The *clap* of the staff quietens until the Curia is left in silence.
