    Default Swordsman bugged?

    I just realized swordsman vs swordsman unit combat took too long so checked them in custom battles. It seems they shield bash more than swinging swords and some soldiers make block animation although they are at back line and aren't atacked.

    The questiong is that shield bash is considered as a sword swing? Or its just animation without damage?

    Shield bashes do nothing but take time and energy in this game. Also, many, many sword slashes hit their target but pass through it harmlessly, at least in 2.02. Strange. I find it's actually better to put spearmen on the walls than swordsmen.

    Use the submod RBBR, it fixes it with rebalancing and weapon speed work arounds. And I think the next BC release will have a more permanent fix too.

    Okay, since early afternoon I've been trying to find out the cause of this bug and I think that's something in BC's animation pack. I removed it completely and played only two battles between Outremer Swordsmen and Harafisha Infantry. In first one the former lost, but there was only 50 Harafisha Infantrymen left on the field. In second, the former won with 33 men left on the battlefield and only 6 Egyptians fled the scene.

    I think the fight between these two was balanced.

    Try Dismounted Outremer Knights and Dismounted Late Hospitalers against few units of light spearmen. Swodsmen should kill more light enemies than macemen in the same time.
