I got a mission to assassinate the HRE leader by his son, mission completed, then after a while I got another mission to assassinate the now King by HIS son, then after a while I got ANOTHER mission to assassinate the current king by his son, and I got another afterward.

Had the same thing happen while I was at war with them. Just ended up killing both the son and king on the battlefield. Much more satisfying when it results in their country no longer existing on a map.

Haven't had that happen to me, but now that you mention it, every single Regicide mission I've ever gotten that I remember was for (Or against...?) the HRE.

I only had 3 assasination missions in a row against the HRE. But at least once I got a regicide mission against another Faction (Sizily). I do not like the regicide missions though, I prefer an honest fight in opnen battle. Although I am not sure why a fight is honourable, when I fight their King plus one unit of Norman Knights with a full stack of Dismounted Feudal Knights, Feudal Knights and Hospitallers.

maybe the HRE are the sith. each king (master) is killed by his son (apprentice)

i've bever gotten those missions. are there any prerequisites or do they just appear randomly like other missions?

I'm not sure, I got it while I was at war with them. Chances are, (Just a guess) you probably need a low reputation.

Have you ever got it from a Russian? In one of my games (either Byzantines or Hungary, I don't remember which) I was asked to assassinate the faction leader, almost at the very beginning of the game...

I've never got such missions from HRE, but I got from France and Denmark a couple of times.

yep, I think all the factions give you this kind of missions, not just the HRE (I used to get them from Denmark/France/England/Poland)
I've never gotten 3-4 in a row like you, only 2 in a row and it only happened once IIRC

The Egyptians gave me a mission like that but i was not interested. The reward was if i remember correctly to improve my relations with them. Why improve my relations when i am already 3 turns away from defeating them?

5000 florins man...... I run a policy of constant construction, so even 5000 florins can help in the long term.

i usually have the game pretty much won in about 20 turns, so why bother with these missions..? Just focus on command & conquest for christ's sake. Also I usually get excommunicated by the 2nd turn, because by then, I'm already in war with half of christendom, so after I conquer Rome I kill the pope pretty much every turn until I get my own pope elected.(I usually play the HRE too, so there's an initial low rep bonus)

Command and conquest isn't really that fun, I tried it once, and I had to struggle for France, and I was fighting with pretty much all of Europe, my troops were sub-par to the troops of everyone else, and my best cities were taken from the Spanish, Italians and Egyptians, my settlements constantly rebelled, my generals deserted..... yeah.
