Yes I am aware that the title as advertised is John Carter, but while I respect Andrew Stanton as a director and story teller, I think the full title is more appropriate.

That said, looks fantastic and it comes at a time when films of this nature are selling well. I've always wondered when the first full blown Hollywood interpretation of this would appear, I read the original pulps back when I was a wee lad, and I trust that this interpretation will give the proper treatment to the source material while updating it for a modern audience.

Then again, this could be a complete mess. I hope not though.

I always found that this and Gulliver Jones were incredibly cool concepts. Disney, though, is putting me off on it...

I'd be willing to give it chance.

In fairness the logo does spell JCM. Trailer looks good, especially the music choice is solid. As far as Disney is concerned, they did a good job with Tron so no reason they won't do a good job on this.

Hence my maintaining the "John Carter of Mars" thing, clearly the advertising and art departments aren't talking to each other about a few things.

Indeed, I thought the new Tron wasn't at all bad, if a bit predictable. But whatever flaws it had were countered by both the fantastic soundtrack (which is something Disney appear to have really embraced in their recent outings) and that moment where Jeff Bridges becomes Obi-Wan Lebowski.

That was a fairly epic moment.
