    Default Diplomats and Non-Allies

Just curious, is there anyway to alter the mod so that I'm able to have diplomatic relations with non-allied factions, but the NPC factions can't do the same?

I'd like full freedom over what I can do, but to avoid the AI factions from making nonsensical alliances.

I believe that simply deleting your "descr_cursor_actions.txt" will do what you want.

The AI already have extreme hatred towards opposing factions, so I don't see them allying themselves anytime soon.

Why do allies find it so difficult to swap map information. I want to be able to march to the cities to help when they are besieged but i find they never will accept my offers. For example i am playing as Hochland, Stirland are bankrupt, i offer my map information and 5000 gold and they refuse, always!!! The diplomacy screen says it is a very generous offer too! It is very annoying.

Haha, yeah. I managed to get map information on my Wissinland campaign from 3 other Empire states, but the rest all refused even when I sweetened the deal with my own map information + 20000 golds.

Really? As Reikland, I sent my diplomat to the allied states as soon as the game began, and they were fine with swapping map infos for 400 gold. Last ally to swap information with me was Wissenland and they told me I should pay at least 566, which I did.

In my experience the AI will randomly refuse deals if your maps are part of it, even if they would accept without the maps. The best way I've found to get maps is to ask them what they want for their maps and then counter-offer slightly lower.
