Followed steam instructions part (was somewhat confused by:
"If you have only the gold version: Install RSII in an empty folder somewhere on your computer, then copy/paste its content to the rome total war gold folder. Answer yes if asked to overwrite."
Then saw:
"First, make a folder on your desktop. Install RSII to that folder. Once that is done, drag or cut and past all the files in the folder to your C:\Program Files\Steam\SteamApps\common\rome total war gold or whatever other version of RTW you may have."
So I pasted all the RS stuff into the steam rtw gold folder.
Put " -mod:play_Rome -show_err -nm" into the Steam Launch properties thingy.
Put "Yes" for the Steam option on the launcher
Use launcher and get the "unable to find skelton fs_s1_forest_elephant_javelinrider" error.

Open up the Launcher's properties and the target is already "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\rome total war gold\launcher\Roma Surrectum II.exe" (with quotes already there in the field)
Look at the Start In field, it isn't the same as the Target field, try to make it the same as Target ("C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\rome total war gold\launcher\Roma Surrectum II.exe")
Get an error saying the folder is invalid and to make sure that the path is correct. Check out the folder and the Roma Surrectum II exe is there.
What am I doing wrong?
Running on Vista btw.
Edit: Did this
6. If you did everything correct, the launcher on the desktop works. If it doesn't delete it and create a new shortcut from the "Roma Surrectum II.exe" file located in Activision\Rome - Total War\launcher.
Still doesn't work.
Edit 2:
Did a shoddy reinstall (why would I need to reinstall in the first place if it was already clean)
Same
Am I just wasting my time trying to fix it by myself while waiting for a response?
Edit 3:
Was I supposed to unzip the 4 parts of the download? Installation guide didn't say anything about doing it so I didn't.
