Any Elliott Smith fans on here? I dont know, his music seems to inspire a fanatical evangelicalism in alot of people. And for good reason too. It really comes on strong as "emo" music. But I feel like its "emo" in a good way. Not like some 34 year old with eye liner whining about how awful highschool is, instead a musical prodigy whose poured so much of his pain into his songs that he can barely hold it together when he performs... *performed them...



I mean you can literally hear it in his voice, its ripping him apart. It almost brings me to tears.



Has other good stuff to thats not depressing, at least as long as you dont look too hard at any of the lyrics .





He plays alot of his own instruments and he definately writes his songs from the heart. In this age of hyper-artifical music thats been blended together on a mixboard while some undereducated punk poorly strings together words that rhyme; I feel like someone like him who really ripped their soul out and plopped it on the table in front of you deserves alot of respect.
