So with the new Tin Tin movie just around the corner, what do you forumites think?

The visuals are spectacular, and the characters a well voiced. But is Tin Tin fit for the big screen?
Also, the fact that they fused the Crab of th Golden Claws (sp?) and the secrete of the Unicorn help in developing both Haddoc's character and enlargening the story.

I love the comic books. I don't care what they say about Herge and racism, the guy knew how to make people laugh. I haven't watched the movie though...

Since I'm from Belgium, I adore Tin Tin, or Kuifje as I know him :p. Best comic books I've ever read. Don't know if a movie will do him right though.

Well I will watch it, but if its going to be good is another question. Does anybody know if they will use the old voices from the cartoons for the french version?

With Peter Jackson behind the wheel I trust this will be a solid title.

(And he can get back into making the friggin HOBBIT!)

Steven Spielberg is directing. Jackson is just sitting in a producing role and using his special effects company for the film.

Personally I think this is a misstep for Spielberg, he had other more fascinating projects that would make better use of his talent and expertise. He had plans for a film exploring the theory of the Einstein-Rosen bridge (or wormholes) and was going to call it Interstellar. That would be a more original, interesting film and Spielberg's greatest strength is sci-fi. (Apart from the last Indiana Jones and War of the Worlds, but I blame Lucas for the poor quality of those)

Still is my most anticipated movie of the year. The animation got me hooked and the fact is Tintin and has such great talent behind it just makes it better. Hope I'm not disappointed.
