    The Complete History of IH

    Last Updated: Tuesday October 30, 2012 - 11:27 PM

    Part 1: A Chronological History

    I. The Primitive IH: January 30 2009 - Spring 2010
Spoiler Alert, click show to read:
The earliest days of IH remain somewhat shrouded in mystery, as most if not all of its original founders moved on to other sections of the forum long ago or else completely disappeared. The oldest thread in the forum, which can be found here, dates from January 30 of 2009 and was posted by Warman, the de-facto founder of the IH board itself.* The OP proposes the idea of an IH and gives an example of it at another forum, Totalwar.org. It is thought that IH originated at "the Org," but this is not known for sure due, once again, to the lack of original IH members currently present on the forum. The oldest thread in the dedicated forum on the Org dates to August 25, 2005 but whether or not older threads exist, or did exist at one point, is unclear. The oldest thread on the Org forum can be seen here. As a quick view would show, IH in its original form is vastly different from the one we know today. Indeed, it seems to have begun as more of a "choose your own adventure" style of game, something that the TWC IH forum has never seen. And though their history goes back further, it seems that we have managed to outlast our ancestors. In the past few months, the Org IH forum seems to have gone very quiet, with the most recent post dating to October 30, 2012 and the post before that dating to October 16 of the same year. As of the last edit of this page (October 30, 2012), the IH forum on the Org was known as "The Chapter House."

It is quite clear that, no matter what the actual origins of the IH game may be, TWC's IH community is a branch-off of the original Org community. The problem of how the game changed so much between its current incarnation and its oldest known ancestor remains, and likely will remain indefinitely. This is due, once again, to the lack of original players currently present on the forum. It could be possible to trace the evolution of IH by reading through the Org forums, but this would be highly difficult and time-consuming due to the sheer amount of information present there and how many holes there may be. For now, at least until contact with an original member can be made, these questions will have to stand unanswered.

Thankfully, the history of IH on TWC is much easier to trace. As was previously mentioned, the oldest post on our board dates to January 9, 2009. However, it is not known if this thread was the forum's original thread or if the IH forum did not exist yet and the thread was moved here after the forum's creation. Whatever the case may be, this thread marks the true beginning of IH on TWC. IH was led originally by Warman, who was an active member on the Org IH forum. Over time, other leaders from the Org forum emerged, including Warluster, whose original IH Rulebook was stickied here (though not followed, since it was considered to be obsolete) up until very recently. Warluster, along with many other members, gradually faded away from the scene over the time, while Warman was actually banned from the site after posting a rant thread (which no longer exists) in the Thema Devia, directed at multiple members of the greater TWC forum. He recently returned under multiple alternate accounts, but these were banned by TWC moderation within hours of their first few posts. Indeed, the last posts, consisting of a flurry of insults directed at the general IH membership, were removed in a matter of minutes. It is not yet known if Warman will return or if he has been IP banned by TWC's upper brass. Either way, this provides a strong testament to the lack of sources to help us to better understand early IH history.

The first IH on TWC was set in Sengoku Era Japan, with multiple IH's set in Europe and the Americas in various eras of world history materializing later. Unfortunately, none of these early IH's were particularly successful, and the forum entered into a slow but steady decline starting in the Spring of 2009, at least three short months after its founding. The forum was almost totally deserted, with only a few loyal players remaining, by the time Barry and the other members of the Old Guard** arrived. Several attempts were made by Warman (who had not yet been suspended) to host new IH's, but they were generally superseded by Barry's newer form of the game.

All of this said, it is difficult to decide an exact date of transition between the earliest periods and the modern period of IH history. While it could be pinpointed to April 3, 2010 (the start date of the first Barry IH), IH's hosted in the older style by older members were still present for the first few months of IH history. From this point on, however, all further chapters in this history will be written in relation to the transition of games hosted by Barry and using his rules.

II . Origins: March 3 – April 3 2010 (IH Player involvement largely ceased by March 28)

Spoiler Alert, click show to read:
The foundations of the modern IH are often considered to have originated in the fallout caused by the collapse of Battleground: 1914, another independently run forum game housed in the Coliseum proper. When the host, a member by the name of Fredrich Barbarossa, began to show obvious bias towards Germany in the game, several future IH members (Kaitsar, Barry Goldwater, Marshy, MuttonChops, and Dan the Man) convened to discuss and ratify an ultimatum to deliver to Fredrich with the purpose of forcing him to engage in more balanced moderation. The ultimatum was sent and received on March 27. When Fredrich got angry and refused the players’ demands, the signers of the ultimatum resigned en masse. Every signer (and a few non-signers) had resigned by the next day. While some positions were filled by new players, many important factions were never replaced, resulting in the game’s final collapse, whereupon Frederich simply announced that the thread was done and that the Central Powers had won.* While the reasoning behind the creation and issue of the ultimatum remained controversial, the ultimatum itself and the collapse of BG: 1914** was integral to the eventual rebirth of the IH forums.
Spoiler Alert, click show to read:

*Frederick II, a founding IH’er now known as Comrade Chernov, remained until the end of the game.
**And by extension the entire BG series, except for two brief revivals under Frederick II and Kaitsar.

    III. Humble Beginnings - IH 1300: April 3 – April 27 2010

Spoiler Alert, click show to read:
Shortly after the fall of BG, Barry approached most if not all of the former players with a proposal: to restore the long-collapsed IH subforum.* While most of us hadn’t heard of this relatively nondescript part of the forum, we were all intrigued and ready to give the new game a shot. A game set in 14th century Europe and the Middle East was finally settled upon, and this game, simply titled “1300 Interactive History,” would later go on to form the basis for the rules and overall game play of all faction-based IH’s. Despite only lasting three turns, the game proved to be a true groundbreaker in more ways than an establishment of rules: It gathered together most of the original IH’ers, now fondly referred to as the “Old Guard,” including Marshy (then known as Napoleon’s Febreeze), Kip, Kaits, MuttonChops, Celsius, and, of course, Barry. This IH would also be the precedent for Dan the Man’s position as unofficial IH mapper, testing his mapping capabilities for the first time through the creation and turn-by-turn updating of the game's campaign map. Despite its auspicious stance as the founding game of the current IH dynasty, IH 1300 died with something of a whimper rather than a bang, cut down early in its life by player demand and Barry’s own continuously evolving ambitions for new games, a trend that would continue even to this day.

IV. Gaining Steam – The Russian Civil War IH: April 27 – June 9 2010

Spoiler Alert, click show to read:
With our great leader heading the charge, the IH forum was completely rejuvenated. While we were small, under-trafficked, and largely unknown to the rest of the forum, we had made it into our own secret nook of sorts, a hiding place in plain sight. Some members would fall away in the fullness of time. Some would return a few months later, some would never be heard from again. It was clear, however, that the neo-IH’ers weren’t going anywhere. This was our home, a brotherhood of sorts, right under the nose of the greater TWC public.

With the fall of IH 1300, Barry quickly created a new and revolutionary IH that would, much like its predecessor, set the precedent for many future IH’s. Unlike 1300, which was faction based, this new IH, revolving around the Russian Civil War, was based on players. Each player took a famous historical general of the time period from either the Red or White factions and led a single army, with one faction leader doling out troops to each of his lieutenants. This style of game play was a completely new development, and would carry on in many future IH’s including the highly popular and greatly revered “Where Eagles Fly” series.* The game itself went down in a similar fashion to IH 1300 and many other subsequent IH’s.

*See Chapter V for additional information on “Where Eagles Fly,” or, “WEF.”

    V. The Ascent – 1900 IH and Dawn of Man:
    May 24 – July 15 2010 (1900) and July 12 – September 17 2010 (DoM)*
Spoiler Alert, click show to read:
The firmness of the fledgling IH community was confirmed with the creation of dual IH’s 1900 and Dawn of Man. While 1900 arose first and was eventually overshadowed by its counterpart, it had a very strong start and has been imitated in several future IH’s, none of which were ever able to measure up to its success. On the less positive side, 1900 is also a landmark in the growing schism that would eventually become a part of day-to-day life in the IH section. 1900 was the sight of the first major flamewar in IH history, stemming from an original argument over the situation of the Eastern Front during the “Great War.” The combined influences of the growth of Dawn of Man and malfunctions with Barry’s computer finally doomed the IH by mid July. A proper resolution to the argument was never reached.
Dawn of Man turned out to be another groundbreaker. Centered on the Old World at the end of the Neolithic era, it added brand new game play elements including religion, espionage, magic, heroes, quests, buildings for settlements, and perhaps most importantly, player-defined factions and sophisticated unit rosters as opposed to generic troops. This IH would also feature a multi-player team of administrators working alongside Barry, with Kaitsar handling the mapping and MuttonChops working as official war mod. Dawn of Man soon became a favorite among many IH’ers, with several reboot attempts hitting the shelves but never lasting nearly as long as the original. Again, erring onto the pessimistic side, DoM also suffered widespread flamewars and arguments, only some of which actually pertained to the game. This called into question the lack of moderation present at the time in the IH section, with several IH’ers voicing in favor of keeping things quieter so as to stave off moderator patrols through the board.
Spoiler Alert, click show to read:
*The dates on these are somewhat fuzzy, as they both suffered slow and gradual collapses and ongoing discussion rather than actual announcements of cancellation.

VI. IH’s Finest Hour – The “Where Eagles Fly” Series and the Golden Age of IH:
    August 26 2010 – August 8, 2011
Spoiler Alert, click show to read:
From the ashes of IH 1900 and DoM rose an all new IH. This IH would go on to spawn an entire series of highly successful and popular games, bring about the recruitment of a large portion of the forum’s regular membership, and eventually be the most revered game series in the entire history of IH. This game would be called “Where Eagles Fly,” abbreviated as “WEF,” and it would truly be the defining moment of the entire IH forum. Held in a near sacred regard by the players, it will forever be immortalized in the minds of every participating IH’er, and even those who joined long after its tenure.
Set in the year 1796, the first title of the WEF series placed players at the very birth of the United States, just after the presidency of George Washington. Operating on a character-based platform, not unlike that of the Russian Civil War IH, WEF was revolutionary in its incorporation of political movements, completely unique so far to any IH game. The players ate it up, and it soon brought in new members from near and far. While IH was largely homogenous in the composition of its members for the first part of its history, WEF ushered in a new era where new faces in the games became more and more common with each new title. As in the genesis of IH, many of these members would only stick around for a single game. Others would go on to form the community’s most regular members. Such members include pvtgunny (now known simply as ‘Gunny), Rosenkruz, Amaz, and Agamemnon*.

Perhaps one of the most memorable things about the WEF saga was the history it built up, with each new title adding its own unique aspects. While the history of the WEF universe may have started out completely unified with the traditional history of the United States (and the greater world), it took a sharp turn when John Pappas, Kaitsar’s character, declared himself King of America. Following a brief civil war (which was reenacted in a future IH title), the United Kingdom of America was born. No stone of history would remain unturned, as the ripple and butterfly effects came into full swing. From one simple civil war, the WEF universe changed the entire course of modern history. Shown below is a full list of WEF titles in order of appearance including the full history of the in-game universe up until 1959 (as seen in the thread of the 1960 edition of WEF):

Aside from being one of the most successful IH serials of all time, WEF brought about more reforms in the IH section. From the continuous explosion of debates, chatter, and general off-topic spam, an OOC Thread was born, giving players a forum for off topic discussion. When off-topic chatter gradually became even too far off topic for an OOC thread, Barry's Bar, the IH chat thread, was created. One of the crown jewels of the IH forum, The Bar has been known to jump forward several pages in just a few hours, with its total thread and post count large enough to rival the main TWC chat thread in the Thema Devia. This in turn would lead to a specialized debate thread. IH’ers have always been a politically oriented group, and The Debate Thread helped to foster this while keeping a more friendly ambience within the Bar itself and allowing the OOC thread to be reserved for game-related chatter.

The continued presence of spam, arguments, and off topic chatter even after the creation of the OOC thread, the Bar, and the Debate Thread eventually led the IHers to seek additional help in the form of new local moderators. The pressure on Barry was steadily becoming a little too heavy, especially considering that he was prone to long periods of inactivity in this time period. The IH’ers held public elections for several nominees with Gunny and Kip eventually coming out on top. It took several months for the local moderator request to go through the Hexagonal Council of TWC, however, and by the time Kip and Gunny finally acquired their moderation powers on the evening July 28, 2011 the election had largely been forgotten. Taking full advantage of this, Gunny and Kip, forming the “Guppy Regime” launched a surprise prank on the IH community, pretending to execute a Nazi-style hostile takeover of the forum under the guise of a cyber attack on Barry’s computer. Resistance to the movement was mowed down without much of a fight. In the aftermath of the prank, Gunny and Kip proved themselves to be highly capable moderators and have been incredibly helpful in day-to-day operation of the site. Though, more jokes would follow in the fullness of time.

Whether they joined before or after its time, any IH’er with any kind of experience on the forum can testify that WEF was the high point and overall defining moment of IH history. Though it may have reached its grand finale (for now anyway), WEF will never be forgotten through both the memories of its players and the overall impact it had on the rules and game play elements of future IH titles outside of its own series.
Spoiler Alert, click show to read:
*Several titles, finishing dates are still somewhat difficult to nail down accurately.
**Aggy had joined earlier for DoM, but caught it on the very tail end of its run. He became truly active during WEF.
***An IH set in the WEF universe but marrying the universe itself to an earlier American Wild West IH concept.

VII. Heirs of WEF – The Greatest War and Rule Britannia:
    March 29 – May 10, 2011 and May 16 – July 24, 2010
Spoiler Alert, click show to read:
While WEF may have shined the brightest of the Golden Age IH’s, it certainly was not the only IH to take center stage at the time. The Greatest War (single IH) and the Rule Britannia series (a multi-episode series based on the history established by The Greatest War) were among some of the most prominent non-WEF IH’s of the Golden Age.

The Greatest War IH revolved around Europe in the year 1642. A faction-based IH, players took control of one of a variety of different nations and led them through the finale of the Thirty Years War era. The most central faction of this game and the rest of IH history was England, by whose civil war the entire RB history was constructed. The English Royalists, led by KippyK, were able to beat back the parliamentarians in this alternate history, firmly establishing the monarchy as the one source of government in England and eventually all of Britain. The Greatest War was also a game-changer for IH as a whole due to its groundbreaking switch from percentage based economies to actual cash with which a player could build improvements and hire troops. This trend would follow through into all subsequent IH’s and was seen by Barry and the players themselves as far more logical than the original economic system. The Greatest War also attracted several new members which have become integral parts of the forum including Bjorn, HMS England, and Pericles of Athens.

The RB universe piggybacked off of this result in much the same way that the WEF successor games picked up where the original had left off. Following the history, constructed by Barry with the help of the IH community, England returns with full strength after the civil war and dominates massive swathes of the globe (including not only traditional places like India, Canada, parts of Africa, etc. but new lands like distant Japan as well), forming a British Empire that Victoria herself could only dream of ruling. The first game of the series, Rule Britannia 1911, was a character based IH in the style of WEF, wherein players made a character who operated out of one of several home ridings within the British Empire including India, Canada, Japan, Oceania, and many more.

RB 1911 was closely followed by the second, RB 1936. After the events of the Great Russian War, which unfolded over the course of RB 1911, the borders of Europe have gone through some dramatic revisions. Most of Eastern Europe and all of France are now established as German puppet states following the German victory over the Russian Empire and the Commune of France. Russia, now under a far right wing government, prepares to exact its revenge on the Germans and reclaim those lands that they believe to be rightfully theirs. Unlike RB 1911, RB 1936 was faction based. RB 1936, despite its brilliance as an idea, was not able to last as long as its predecessor or the WEF series, largely due to some user error on the part of the players and a general collapse in interest in favor of the newly launched reenactment of the original WEF American Civil War. It was, as Barry puts it, placed firmly in the freezer and may someday make a reappearance when the players (and the host) are ready.

As of this publication, the last game of the RB series was Empty Peace, which is discussed in a later chapter.

VIII. Other IH’s of the Golden Age:
    August 26 2010 – August 8, 2011
Spoiler Alert, click show to read:

Despite the firm stances of WEF and RB as the central games of the Golden Age, they were not the only IH’s present at the time. While a wider majority of them were hosted by Barry, it was in this era that IH’s by other members both new and old became more common. A full list of secondary IH’s of this period (in as close to chronological order as data gathered from the research would allow) is as follows:

IH’s created and hosted by Barry:
Spoiler Alert, click show to read:

Bella, horrida bella! – A faction-based IH set in an alternate history of Europe and Asia.

    The Lacrimese War
    – An RPG style IH set in a fantasy universe created single-handedly by Barry.

    The Sixty Years' War
    – Another RPG IH set in the same universe as the Lacrimese War.

    The Fall of Eagles
    – A faction-based IH set just after the Fall of Rome.

    The Sengoku Jidai
    – A faction-based revisit of an IH created by the previous leader of the IH forum, which revolved around the Sengoku period in Japan.

    Götterdämmerung 66 MYA
    – A completely new style of IH set in the age of the dinosaurs! While it never truly got off the ground due to the overwhelming influence of the WEF Civil War, one of its best qualities was a new system by which players could customize their own units and armies from a few pre-set attributes.

    The Wilting Flower of Chivalry
    – A faction-based IH set in the mid-14th century. A popular IH, but also overwhelmed after competition with the WEF Civil War IH.

IH’s created and hosted by the greater IH Community:
    *
Spoiler Alert, click show to read:

Heralds of Christ: A Crusader State IH – A faction-based IH set in the Holy Land during the Crusades. All of the ground work was laid out, but the game ended up collapsing due to lack of player interest. Hosted by Kip, who said he might bring it back someday.

    Heirs of Charlemagne IH
    – A faction-based IH set in Europe just after the reign of Charlemagne. Hosted by Dan but never finished.

[1618] - Thirty Years' War IH
    – A faction-based IH set in Europe at the start of the Thirty Years War, predating “The Greatest War” by a few months. Hosted by Marshy but never finished.

The Arena - A Gladiatorial Combat IH
    – A player-based IH revolving around gladiatorial combat in Ancient Rome. Hosted by Dan and went for several battles, but collapsed due to outside stresses and Dan’s inability to mod so many battles at the same time.

Patéres tis Dimokratías - A Greek IH
    – A faction-based IH set in Ancient Greece. Hosted by Watercress and went on for several weeks before player involvement slipped.

    Clans & Tribes
    – A faction-based IH set in Central and Eastern Europe during the Dark Ages wherein players create their own ancient tribe. Started and ran for several turns but eventually collapsed due to lack of player interest and overcomplicated rules written by Dan.

Mob Wars - The Rise of Organized Crime
    – A player-based IH set in a fictitious city wherein players create their own mafia. Hosted by Aggy but never finished due to a drop in player interest in favor of one of Barry’s IH’s.

Welcome To The Jungle - The Vietnam War IH
    – A semi-faction/semi-player based IH set at the time of the Vietnam War. Hosted by Fred, started but cut off early due to Fred losing interest.

A Time Of Troubles - The 1861 IH
    – A faction based IH set in the year 1861. Hosted by Fred but never
    finished.

    Das Heilige Römische Reich (HRR)
    – A faction based IH revolving around the Holy Roman Empire and various factions within it. Hosted by Gunny but never finished due to his own diversion of attention to the French Revolution IH.

    Rise of the Mongols
    – A faction based IH set in Eurasia in the year 1200. Hosted by Dan but never finished due to a variety of reasons.

Unificazione Italiana – A faction based IH set at the beginning of the era of Italian Unification. Hosted by Kaiser Eugene, but never finished due to loss of attention to other IH’s.

The Completely Improbable and Impossible IH - The Battle of Bangor
    – A new concept for an IH based on a completely impossible alternate history. Started, but collapsed quickly due to lack of player interest.

The Age of Discovery – An IH set in the Americas just before the Spanish conquest of the Aztecs. Hosted by Dan the Man, but never finished due to school starting.

'For The Motherland!' - The Eastern Front IH – A single player IH hosted by Fred, wherein Kip played as the USSR against an NPC Third Reich on the Eastern Front during World War II.

*Incomplete list due to the sheer number of non-Barry IH’s.

IX. A New Generation: Vive la France; Siege of Malta, World in Conflict; 1900 – Fall of Empires; and A Clash of Kings:
    August 10 – ?
Spoiler Alert, click show to read:
Shortly after the “end” of Brother against Brother, Barry entered a period of sparse activity on the forum, due to out of town traveling, overall business, and his planning/operation of another RPG, based at a different website. The forum, however, did not go empty: Several IH’ers took up Barry’s mantle while he was away, leading to the rise of a handful of new IH’s. First among these was Vive la France.

The brainchild of Gunny and Kip, Vive la France was put into the works long before it was first hosted on the forum. A player-based IH in the WEF and RB tradition, players created unique characters to RP in the era of the French Revolution. Players could be elected to different positions and could also become military commanders like in WEF and RB, though the IH never got to that point. After a run of about two weeks and one election VLF was put into stasis due to a slow but sure breakdown in player involvement. Far from dead, Gunny plans to resurrect the IH at a still undetermined date.

Another IH that was conceived as an idea for a fairly long time before being put to action was The Siege of Malta, another player-based IH hosted by Kaiser Eugene. TSoM pits players against each other during the monumental Siege of Malta. The player, as always, creates his/her own character but instead of political and command aspects chooses his specialty in warfare, his standing in the army, as well as the faction he belongs to (either the Ottoman Turks or the Hospitaller Knights). The game has only just gotten off the ground, but has already brought in a few new players. As of November 9, 2011, this IH had seen no further embellishment.

Third of the new IH's comes from Fred, a long time host of IH's regarded to be nearly of the same caliber as Barry's (not to diminish Fred's IHs, but it's very difficult to be as good as Barry). The IH, known as World in Conflict, is based on the popular computer game and takes place in an alternate history of the year 1989, wherein the USSR and its Warsaw Pact allies invade Western Europe, sparking a violent ending to the Cold War. The IH entered a period of activity and was eventually cancelled.

Fourth of our selection of new IH’s is called 1900 – Fall of Empires. The most recent incarnation of the classic 1900 IH, this game is being hosted by Aggy and has attracted the attention of the Hex member and new arrival to the IH forum, Pontifex Maximus, alongside the usual players of course. The game descended into a brief flamewar and a period of inactivity, but Aggy promises that it will be getting off the ground as soon as he finishes some business with World Realism, another game he hosts which was recently granted its own forum on TWC. No word has been heard on the condition of the game currently.

Lastly but certainly not least is the most recent of the five new IH’s, and Barry’s most recent game after returning from his off-forum RPG as well. This time Barry is hosting a faction based IH based on the book series A Song of Ice and Fire. The game is called A Clash of Kings and, despite being the newest IH currently present on the board, is making a very strong start and has brought in several new members, all of which are A Song of Ice and Fire fans. The game was cancelled in favor of IRS.

    X. Imperium Romanum Sacrum: Successor of RB: September 27 - November 9
Spoiler Alert, click show to read:
Following the (in general) success of the Rule Britannia series, Barry decided to create a spin-off game, known as Imperium Romanum Sacrum. Much like the original, IRS was character based with political as well as military aspects. However, IRS placed players at the helm of the Holy Roman Empire, now the dominant power in Europe and the only nation in the world capable of posing a true threat to Britannia, which remains the world's premier superpower. The action begins just before what we know as World War I as tensions mount between the HRE and Imperial Russia, out for revenge after its humiliating defeat in the Great Russian War (which took place in the time of RB 1911). The game was subject to several tactical blunders on the part of the players, as the war began with a revolution by independence-minded Ukrainians with Russian support. Britain also decided to join in the fun and the Germans quickly lost ground on both the Western and Eastern fronts. Meanwhile, a triumvirate of KippyK, 'Gunny, and Kaiser Eugene was founded and the rest of the Reichstag proceeded to run around like the proverbial chickens with their heads cut off, with the generals following suit. A separate peace was brokered with the Britons, but not without the loss of integral vassal states in France and Italy. The triumvirs began to draw up their battle lines on the Eastern front at this point, readying themselves for the Russo-Ukrainian onslaught that would, unfortunately, never come. Just as the battle was about to commence, Barry decided to take a break from IH in exchange for some much-needed personal time. It was agreed that IRS would be cancelled until further notice, as most players had lost interest anyway since Barry's hiatus and Barry himself had some brand new plans to reveal to the IH'ers.

XI. Rebirth of RB: Rule Britannia 1810: November 9 - Present
Spoiler Alert, click show to read:
AUTHOR'S NOTE: The above is a working title and will be modified to include Fred's "Perfect Society" IH.

    i miss you

Also, I can think of some ones you missed off the top of my head.

    Darkness over Europe
    the ACW IHs
    The Chinese Civil War IH
    IH 2010
    Welcome to the Jungle

Also, it really meant alot to me when you said mine were almost as good as barry's. Thanks good friend.

That's odd, I was almost positive that I had added Welcome to the Jungle at least. There were some issues with formatting when I transferred all of this over from the Word document I had originally written it on (hence the awkward asterisks. By the way, if one of our mods could somehow fix that I would be eternally grateful). I wonder if it somehow got deleted. As for Darkness over Europe, as the host, that's one that I'd prefer to just forget. I did also mean to include the ACW IHs but I was having trouble finding them. I'll have to dive deeper into the archives and the main forum when I get more time.

Thanks for your encouragement and kind words as well, both of you (even if it was just in the form of a heart on Kip's part )!

So wait, does this mean you're leaving IH?

I'll be around to work on this history and generally watch the forum. I'll also be here pretty regularly for the rest of this week restocking my mod collection on my new computer (which should be arriving tomorrow. Expect pics and gloating ). Other than that, I probably won't be joining any more games or doing much posting at all outside of this thread. I might pop into the bar unannounced every once in a while too if I'm feeling reminiscent. Just think of it as a constant omniscient presence of Dan that doesn't actually say anything on the actual forums but will respond to your PMs/VMs.
That said, I don't think this is going to end up being a permanent thing. I'll probably be back in full force in somewhere between a few months to the end of the school year.

Well, it's gonna suck with you barely being here, but hey, as long as it isn't permanent, then it's fine with me.

    My heart won't break completely.

Also, Make sure to take a picture of your face when you see Windows 7 MS Paint on a tablet computer for the first time. I bet you'll be as giddy as if you saw santa.

Heh, don't worry about it. In fact, I think I owe you one. I did get rep from somebody though. Would the generous donator please step forward so he may be reciprocated?

And I was positive that I had mentioned you at least a few times, Watercress. I wonder if it's that formatting issue again...
