I am wondering how many people here can read music. But that I don't mean guitar tabs or that but actual proper musical notation.

No, I cannot.
Yes. I've been reading music since I was in 3rd grade (7 years old), so it's like second nature to me. I'll still read tablatures occasionally if I'm feeling lazy. However, they really will hold you back from furthering your musical knowledge. So, if you're writing songs and you can't read musical notation, I highly suggest learning. Once you get past the hump it makes everything so much easier and so many more doors are opened.
To an extent, I usually just learn by ear.

I'm not nearly as involved in music now thn I used to be but over a decade of learning and playing music has me able to read it.

Yes, but I'm not very good at it. Not that reading it actually matters.

Yes. I've had to take music theory courses several times throughout the years and the acronyms stick after hearing them a few times.
I've played music on the piano for 8 years and I still love to sit down on occasion and read some piano notes.
I like watching some youtube videos that have the sheet music showing and following what is happening. It is a great skill to learn.
5 years of playing French horn in school =P. I'll say yes....but I haven't read any music or legitimately played any instrument in about 6 years.
If it's like riding a bike It'll come right back to me. If it's like mathematical formulas....pahahahahaha.....NO.
no
I can, was in band in high school.
Havn't played in 10 years though, so maybe its gone?

I can read music, but usually settle for tabs when I'm studying something, 'cause I'm lazy that is
If I really have to, for some audition or group project I can do it without a lot of fuss...
Tabs are not the be all and all of guitar playing though. Sometimes I do use traditional sheet music (Indonesian Folk) or if I want to rip-off licks from a saxophone player or something.
I also think that reading music and playing it from sheet is easier for certain instruments (Piano and other stringed instruments) than others (wind instruments like Saxophone and Trumpet).
