    Default When to Auto-Resolve?

I want to complete both RTW and MTW 2 because I always end up losing my entire empire and quitting. I barely ever fight the battles and I know that’s 90 percent of the game however I never fight the ones where I know an auto resolve will win for me and I don't fight ones where I'm outnumbered but I want to learn how to play the game better and get more out of the two games by playing through a campaign fighting all the battles.

So I'm I best to stick to easy on Rome then move onto medium on MTW 2? Or will I even learn anything by playing on easy because it won't solely require me to use tactics so would I be better learning from my mistakes and losing battles on medium or having I guess ... an easy play through on easy, which will teach me to the gaming mechanics of battles and teach me how to win fights where I'm heavily outnumbered. Oh and going back to the question, when should I auto resolve?

    Thanks.

you should auto resolve when there's to way to lose or to win and for tactics how ever i have small info i hope it will help in battle
in the land battle if always put spear on the front and don't put pike men unless the are attaching with horse men for the pike men are are very effective agents them but don't
put them in the front if they have archers for they don't have a very strong armor agents arrows or hand weapons try to put heavy spear men of sword men and if you have archers put them behind them them and put the cavalry on the flanks or near the general or both P.S javelin men are good agents elephant and you could replace them with archers if want but i prefer archers and use cavalry to kill of archers and chase fleeing enemy's and if you want to attack spear or pike don't attack head to head attack from behind or from the flanks (i prefer from behind) as of a siege battle put archers of the walls and javelin men of spear men behind the gate or the section of the wall witch its under attack from siege weapons but don't put them too close to it for they will get killed by the ruins of the wall .
    i hope these information helped

Usually you use auto resolve when you have an overwhelming advantage and don't really care about the extra losses.

M/M is nice enough. Neither side gets a bonus, and you will see that if you always try to flank the AI you will win and get better every time.

If your just beginning then you should try M/M as neither the player or the AI get any bonus's. I play my games at that level because it's not hard sometimes you need to be clever but it's a laid back difficulty. If you want a challenge H/H then you could try VH/VH if you feel really confident. Overall just find a difficulty that suits your style of gameplay, laid back or serious.

I also autoresolve sieges where the enemy has maybe 2 units compared to my 20 and if you can't be bothered to fight the battle.

Generally you never want to auto-resolve a battle unless you have overwhelming advantages and/or you're too lazy to fight the battle itself.

That's extremely offsetting and annoying behavior. Don't do that, lest no one will want to play with you.

So this is how it is done? Having seen this claim twice now, I call out for evidence, or it never happened. And, please post the 1298 times you pulled the plug too, if you care to back up that claim.
