Johannes will be happy to hold the talks in Bremen (nearer the coast than Köln, also a fairly independent city so you won't feel like Köln is imposing too much) and would also be happy to moderate, having reasonably good frienships with both Kings.

By the way, this would more or less be the first time the König has left Köln since the whole thing with his daughter, that's how important he thinks this is.

You can not send reinforcements or tell him to stop the attack because you do not know about it yet.

They do not know about the attack, but they know about the war and know an attack is inevitable.

OOC: If they knew that it was inevitable then you would and have your fleet prepared which means there would be no attack just a sea battle with you winning and his army drowning.

Baton the Strong meets in the Koln palace for talks on the matter. He was tired of the never-ending blood lust the Vikings had for the Britton, but that didn't mean he liked them. He thought this was nor the time or place, They did not have a huge chance of truly winning, yet, but if they had attacked they would deal huge damage with Cnut leading them. This idea was not going to happen in Batons eyes, it was reckless and the empire would probably fall.

Baton smirks.

"Lord of Brittnia about terms on everting war. Is he here yet?"

The guards look at Baton like he's a madman. Suddenly, a voice can be heard from behind them.

"Out of my way, you louts!"

A small man, bearing an uncanny resembance to a weasel - clearly a diplomat - pushes between the two armoured guards.

"Ah yes, you must be the Viking. I have to tell you that you have journeyed further than nescessary. The talks are being held in Bremen to the North, not here in Köln."

The Briton diplomat, who, as most Briton diplomats, is sitting in the corner drunk, says, "Aye, ye came te the wreng plece. Went seme meade?"

OOC: Are you serious, Snap.

Baton looks confused, but if thats where he needs to go for peace then so be it. He would have to go very quickly as Cnut was not going to linger for to long.

"I'm sorry, I must have been guided to the wrong place. I will head for Bremen, and you can keep the meade"
