Soldier Caucasian Raiders[Light Infantry]-14
Little more than irregular ruffians hired to serve in the army, these mountain people are known for being savage and insubordinate. They are usually armed with little more than a light sword, axe, or spear, in addition to a buckler and some padded armor if they are lucky.
Soldier Khazar Spearmen[Spearmen]-14
The cavalry-dominated warfare of the Steppes demands an effective counter to horsemen. These men are that counter. They are not that well trained or experienced, but are effective enough. Equpped with a Spear, a helmet and a chain shirt
Veteran Jewish Warrior[Medium Infantry]-48
The mainstay of Khazaria's armies. Solid and well trained troops, but not good enough to defeat the elites of other nations in equal numbers. Clothed in Chainmail and carrying swords and shields.
Veteran Russian Axemen[Heavy Infantry]-72
Recruited from the Khagan's Russian subjects, these men bring much needed firepower to the army. They carry large Axes and wear suits of Chainmail.
Veteran Jewish Bowmen[Archer]-48
Drawing influences from the Steppe, Greek, and Hebrew archery traditions, these men are fast and accurate, but quite vulnerable to melee attack. Armed with Bow, handaxe, and padded or leather armor.
Veteran Khazar Younglings[Light Cavalry]-144
The younger Khazar warriors, who have not yet reached the rank needed to join the elite of the Khaganate's military. Carrying spears and garbed in leather armor.
Veteran Catapult[Heavy Artillery]-900
A big ol' catapult. That's about it.
Standard Greek Galley[Light Warship]-1,000
This type of ship has been in use for thousands of years, and still holds up in the region today.

Spoiler for History and General Information.:After the fall of the first Khazar Khaganate to the Kievan Rus, many of its inhabitants fled west, eventually ending up on the Crimean peninsula. There they built the city of New Zion on the ruins of the Greek colony of Chersonesus[present day Sevastopol]. The Khazars, who now outnumbered the locals by a sizable margin, established control over the rest of Crimea via conversion. From there, they began to involve themselves in trade throughout the region. With Jewish traders came Judaism, and soon the Khaganate became rich enough to expand. The current borders are a result of religious conversion and military conquest.
The official languages are Khazar and Hebrew, though Russian is very common as well. The state religion is Judaism, which also has the most followers. A large minority are Orthodox Christians, however. The nation contains four primary ethnic groups, the Jews, the Khazars, the Russians, and the Greeks. The Jews, or Crimeans, are the largest group. They mostly inhabit the Crimea and south Khazaria. The Khazars, also known as the Steppe peoples, dwell on the eastern and central plains. They are desendants of the people of the old Khaganate and practice the Jewish faith. The Russians live in the northern reaches of the Khaganate and are still smarting from the conquest by the Jews in the past century. They are Orthodox, much like the Greeks, who live on the coastlines and form a disproportionately large percentage of the navy. The Monarch's power is held in check by a council, called a Bek, of elected officials. Only Jews may elect officials to the Bek, although those of other religions elect local officials.
