they increase att by 1 for every three chevrons, so a fully experienced unit will get an increase of 3 to its att stat, there will be slight increase in morale too
What about archers do they increase accuarcyand thanks

hmm, im not sure how an archers accuracy works, for example their stat in descr_projectile (accuracy vs units), is commented out, which suggests to me that they just sort of fire and hope for the best!
Actually, it's not every 3 chevrons, but every level of chevron. Bronze has 1 more attack than none. Silver 1 has one more than Bronze 3. Morale boosts slightly every chevron, though, but the main benefit is in the melee attack and defense skill bonuses.

For archers and siege weapons its accuracy to hit their targets increases.
In kingdoms +1 attack increases with every level 1-3 bronze, 1-3 silver, 1-3 Gold.
In Medieval 2 +1 attack, +1 defense (although it affects 2.5) for every level.![]()
1 attack , and 1 defense skill for every color Bronze, Silver, and Gold.
Better accuracy for Missile Troops.
Just means that some units, like Peasant Archers -- hmm doesn't matter tooo much if they're silver, bronze, or zero experience.
But lets say you have Gold Chevron DFK's or HEavy Cav of some sort -- don't neglect them! Retrain and re-use , they're super valuable =) Likewise with professional xbows/archers, like Gold Chevron Geonese Crossbows -- doesn't get much better than that!
Yeah, other than 3 gold looks significantly cooler than 1 gold.

Unless you are playing Kingdoms. Then you don't gain anything to defense with experience chevrons. Attack is the same. It seems pretty ridiculous since experience should be experience, so it should go into defense skill.
Yep. Probably why just about every mod changes it back to normal.

I have another question what the difference between the gunpowder units ( ex. Hand Gunners, Musketee.... ) like which is better in battle or in a siege
Hand gunners are not very good. They have a VERY small range, so they will only fire one shot (hopefully even that) before their target runs into them. That is why they have good attack and defense. Arquebusiers are MUCH better because they have range. Musketeers are better than that, though I haven't played that far into a campaign with a faction that could recruit musketeers. They are better, though, both from what I read and considering it is the next evolution of a small arm.
Arquebuse is more like a proper Missile Unit. Where as Hand Gunners are more like Missile-Infantry, their armor and hand to hand ability makes them better able to withstand infantry attack, even they can punish a lot of infantry.
Arquebusiers, you want to have them escape getting into melee, where as HAnd Gunners just let them stand their ground (assuming you're backing them up with infantry of your own). You can include a unit or two of Hand gunners with your arquebusiers, very helpful ,, cuz all that time the arquebusiers need to retreat then reposition to fire again, the handgunners can basically stay in position so they can fire that crucial close-range volley, and fire again when the enemy is routing.
In defense of walls, .. arquebusiers far from where Ladders/Towers may approach, handgunners can defend those areas.
Hand Gunners are supposed to do thier 1 shot and then fight in melee using the morale shock the attackers get from being shot.
Personally I use Arquebusiers to shoot the enemy once or twice when he charged, then fall back, outflank the attackers and shoot thier backs.
Musketeers are kinda like the Longbows of your army. Place them upon a hill and let them shoot. 4(+) units of them can destroy an entire unit of DFKs in seconds.
... assuming their LoS isn't blocked by a single pebble.
