Hi there,
Could somebody tell me in which regions can one build silk roads? Also, is it faction specific?

It's not faction specific, only the Muttatawia are -- recruitable from them by Muslim factions only.
Thanks. Any idea which cities allow this building? Because from what I know, the Silk road was going through the Near East in cities like Antioch or Tyre. In my Ayyubid campaign, I control all of Palestine, Syria and Northern Iraq, but I still can't build any silk road!
Cheers
In BC the Silk Road is not accurate and it is limited to cities of Central Asia and Azerbaijan, plus Baghdad. That's why you can't build it in Syria.
as I remember , in the cities: Dvin, Ani, Ganja, Tabriz ... this is 100% , and other cities I'm not remeberCould somebody tell me in which regions can one build silk roads? Also, is it faction specific?
No one in the team wants to argue with that. It's just, in BC Silk Road is limited - and that's all, an arbitrary setting.
Also, to be precise - you can build Silk Road in regions that have silkrd hidden_resource assigned to them. You can check that in descr_regions.txt, which is located in BC's world/maps/base directory.

Alright thanks for the answer. Looks like I'll have to challenge the Abbasids and place a new puppet Caliph in Baghdad![]()
yea make them a vassal. Don't destroy them, and let them keep Baghdad and Basra. Baghdad is a rich city but very expensive to upgrade. And trust me, the AI loves the city and will do a fine job to upgrade it and Basra. They also will act as a shield against Georgia, Seljuks, Romans, Khwarezemenshah, Mongols, Koj and Ayyubids. So keep them until the city becomes huge and it has a good amount of high level buildings, then storm it and make sure to have 6 stacks because u might have to face the Koj, Romans and Georgia who are ridiculously overpowered
Thanks for the advices Harith. But I don't think I can let the Abbasid have Baghdad, because I want the city to build muttatawia spearmen! Anyway, it's only the better if the city is expensive and vulnerable, my campaign is getting a little too easy at the moment. And, 6 stacks ...? I'm playing with RBBR mod so I guess it's changing some stuff, because I never had the need (nor the money) to keep more than 2-3 stacks at the time.
