Help me please, round 2.
Heh, hi. Guess who it is... 'Tis me again...
This problem is much older and does not involve the simple modding of files... But instead encompases Rome: Total War and a failed uninstall.
Allow me to explain.
I ran Rome: Total War on my laptop (wich is running with Windows 7 and 64-Bit Java if that matters), and things were going fine. Well, I think I tried to uninstall it (unsucsessfully) a few months back, but it failed. About 3 weeks ago I went to play it and I got the message "Failed to load 3-D audio!". I then went haphazzardly (
) to my program files, deleted my, "The Creative Assembly" file, and tried to re-install it. Lo and behold, the program still shows up on my add/remove programs list, but it no longer has the nice little olive branch circle insignia. I then went searching on Google for a manual uninstall and used the one from another forum: http://shoguntotalwar.yuku.com/topic/11047
Everything went well UNTIL I got to step 1-14. I couldn't find any of the registry files and, since I was too afraid of messing with the dark magic that runs computers, I refused to move on, leaving me in a twilight of a game that is technicaly installed but has none of the files for it installed, and I still can't remove it from the add/remove programs list, nor may I play it (For the most obvious of reasons).
Anyone want to take a crack as to what I should do? Sorry everyone, but I'm just a problematic case. It's just my luck.
