After unpacking your files, you also either have to create a mod folder or make the io.file_first change. I would recommend going with mod folder just so you don't overwrite original game files. But it's up to you. This guide explains the difference between the two and how to set it up.

This should be in the Mod Workshop. I don't even remember if it's legal to help you here, so mods, please delete this post if it goes against the ToS.

Either way: You edit export_descr_unit this way. Edit the red number to whatever you like, for each unit you want to edit the size of. This is just Sword Staff Militia as an example:

    type Swordstaff Militia
dictionary Swordstaff_Militia ; Sword Staff Militia
    category infantry
    class heavy
    voice_type Heavy
    banner faction main_infantry
    banner holy crusade
    soldier Swordstaff_Militia, 48, 0, 1
    attributes sea_faring, hide_forest, can_withdraw, free_upkeep_unit
    formation 1.2, 1.2, 2.4, 2.4, 4, phalanx, square
    stat_health 1, 0
    stat_pri 7, 3, no, 0, 0, melee, melee_blade, piercing, axe, 25, 1
    ;stat_pri_ex 0, 0, 0
    stat_pri_attr ap, long_pike, spear_bonus_4
    stat_sec 6, 3, no, 0, 0, melee, melee_blade, piercing, axe, 25, 1
    ;stat_sec_ex 0, 0, 0
    stat_sec_attr ap, spear_bonus_4
    stat_pri_armour 7, 3, 0, metal
    ;stat_armour_ex 7, 8, 0, 0, 3, 0, 0, metal
    stat_sec_armour 0, 0, flesh
    stat_heat 5
    stat_ground 1, -2, 3, 2
    stat_mental 5, normal, trained
    stat_charge_dist 30
    stat_fire_delay 0
    stat_food 60, 300
    stat_cost 1, 550, 150, 75, 55, 550, 4, 130
    armour_ug_levels 3, 4
    armour_ug_models Swordstaff_Militia, Swordstaff_Militia_ug1
    ownership denmark
    era 1 denmark
    era 2 denmark
    ;unit_info 7, 0, 10

The actual unit size also depends on what level you've set the unit size to be.
"Small", and you multiply the number (here 48), with 1.
"Normal", and you mulitply with 1.5
"Large", and you multiply with 2
"Huge", and you multiply with 2.5

    Thread moved to Mod workshop.
    @OP
You can also set the UI scale to huge in case you haven't from the game options.

It's not against the rules but modding shouldn't be discussed there, report such threads so that they can be moved to the right section.

Wow! I been a cogitatin' bout this problem, as I want to reduce the number of cavalry back down to 30 men per unit in KGCM. I couldn't figure out why them lazy horse ridin' nobles have 32 men in the file and 40 on screen. Must have been another thing my brain dun misfiled. At least I still know where my shells are for my 12 gauge pump shotgun be. I had to stop for a couple of seconds to remember how to give rep. Tx ChivalrousKiller.

Near as I can figure considering my age and actuarial skubalon (i.e., crap; my wife does not like me to say crap; but God knows what it means because He had Paul use it.) this info has potentially saved me from otherwise wasting 5 percent of my remaining time in this vale of tears.
