Default Help Patching 1.6 to BI

Hey I've never installed a patch successfully before so I'm not really sure what I'm doing.
I've downloaded the patch and the application is in my downloads folder.
I'm trying to install patch 1.6 to Barbarian Invasion.

    Need help.

Did you use steam to download the game? If so, it is already patched.

If not, then unfortunately I cannot help you (I use steam).

You can tell the version of the game by looking at the top right hand corner on the options menu - that is the version number. It's always right! If it shows 1.6 then it's the latest version.

If you have RTW and BI installed on your computer, then you need to download and install patch v1.6. If you just have RTW installed, then you need to install patch v1.3, then install patch v1.5.

You need to run the patch(double click) and point it to the same location as your game is.

if you run into any more problems look at this thread

The patch is in the form of an exe. In order to run it you double left mouse click on it. This should start the install process.

Part of the install process is to identify the location of the game folder (where the exe is) - this is commonly known as 'pointing it to the right location'.

Thread moved to RTW technical section.

Well sometimes the host also provides the patch in .rar and .zip files so one has to extract it via Win Rar\7z etc and then run the setup.exe file.
