oh gorge
Can you imagine if Blair did that over here we'd be slaughtered. I don't know what wrong with American media that he can get away with that sort of thing
Lol, Bush doesnt know wtf all that stuff that young lady said was. Privitization, Iraqi contractors, wtf he wants to be in Texas on his ranch, clearing brush, not in the hot seat pulling answers out of his ass about stuff having to do with really big words...like privitization...I mean, God only knows what that word means. C average student, C average president.
It is hillarious at first sight.
You all know my opinion of this president and his administration, but this time I consider his answer commendable. He said that "...it would be convenient to dodge the question", and he admitted his ignorance. That's more than I came to expect from him, and definitely better than the line of defence recently adopted by Rice:
even Rummy did not buy the "future historians" defence:While Rice admitted that the US made “thousands of tactical errors in Iraq,” she also said future historians will agree that it was right to remove Saddam Hussein from power.
“This could have gone that way, or that could have gone this way,” said Rice, adding that the US-led invasion was “the right strategic decision.”
http://www.greeknewsonline.com/modul...ticle&sid=4724Then in a direct swipe at Rice, Rumsfeld added: “If someone says that’s a tactical mistake, then I guess it’s a lack of understanding… of what warfare is about.”
lol he's the biggest Censor Bypass i've seen. lemme give you a quote from him... "now is the time to do something in iraq, but we will only know when to do it when the time is right".

I gotta go with what I see, you can claim that behind the scenes bush is the smartest man in the world, or a reptilian alien or whatever, but in the end I'm still gonna come to a decision based on my own personal experiences on the subject. In this case, what I hear, what I see, what I read about George W Bush during the past 6 years of his presidency (or however long its been exactly, bad sense of time here) and before, because I remember his original year 2000 campaign after the Clinton impeachment, against Gore, so its probably more than 6 years now.
I agree. As you put it, George Dubya Bush, is not an intellectual. You can easily tell by his conduct and lack of knowlege on things he said he was going to fix. The war in Iraq, I doubt he knows about half the stuff going on.Originally Posted by RZZZA
We've had some bad presidents in my opinion, but this one takes the cake, I mean seriously, he couldn't answer the damn question. He's the president, for gods sake, know something about the war on "Terrorism", which he wanted to fight. Not only that, he's making us Americans look bad. Look at many of the threads, one being the S.A.S. soldier that wanted out in the War in Iraq due to the United States troop conduct.
He's the worst president we've had IMHO.![]()

Er its not the media but it evidently students asking him questions at John Hopkins so what exactly did he get away with? Unsure how he dodged the question too, he didnt know which in itself I find it rather disturbing but he didnt dodge it since he said he didnt know!Originally Posted by CiaranG

Well, it was embarrassing but far better he was honest rather than producing some speel that was rhetoric gone mad. In this case, good on him.
It is also unrealistic to expect one man to know all of the answers. As he pointed out, delegation is the key, especially over a specific issue such as this. Now if the discussion was more general, then yes, he would be foolish with that answer.
He should have just done what Tony Blairs advisors do, don't ever let him answer questions by members of the public who have'nt been vetted first or when appearing anywhere infront of a group of people make sure they're all party activists that are bussed in especially.
Thats what he has done in the past and its one of the major negatives used against him that he only talks to friendly crowds so the WH has slowly begun to move away from that to more open events. Case in point few weeks ago another questioner told Bush he should be ashamed of himself, personally I think its good he does this as maybe he'll wake the hell up. Dunno why people are ripping on him for this particular incident though, the guy was honest and how many times can we say that about politicans in America. As someone else said too no person not even the President is going to know every detail of everything going on and the question *was* something the Pentagon/DoD should have an answer to.Originally Posted by Yorkshireman
Well, the question was one of those things that you really expected him to know. I mean, thousands of military contractors, mercenaries essentially, walking around Iraq, and no one, even the Prez, doesn't know whose jurisidiction they're under. I want my president to know the answer, but yes, he deserves credit for being honest.*
*Although that comment about taking up her question and following through on it may have been complete bull ****.
I can bet on the fact that if he gets asked the exact same question a month from now he is not going to have a better answer...
I have to say Bush comes over as lot more relaxed in his second term the he did in his first four years of office.
To be fair Bush isn’t a law expert so I don’t why we should all assume that he should be able to answer the question. He could have just said something like, ‘That’s a very good question which is best answered by my foreign sectary (or what ever is the equivalent in the states)” and it wouldn’t been funny.
His press office will have already prepared him for such an eventually.Originally Posted by MoROmeTe

Please do laugh at Bush, there are tons of funny quotes out there, no need to manifacture more.
i agree but look at my post above. Hail Xenu! Long live L. Ron Hubbard
