Recession
Personal debt at record levels, my business is very quiet past the point where it should be picking up. Are entering a recession? The feel I am getting from the public is a great reluctance to spend money. What is strange is the housing market is strong (for a change
) the stock market is rallying but according to my reps all over the country the high streets are dead. I have friends in management who are reporting record lows.

Re: Recession
I would say that we haven't really left the last one yet. But shopping is still on big time. I would start worrying the day that I see a large number of empire spaces in the nearest shopping mall.

Re: Recession
Sorry mate I should of put UK but its nice to get an american perspective as well.
I would actually prefer it if it was just my place at least then there would be something wrong I could fix. The aisleways are empty when they should be busy though. Fortunatly I'm stuck in the house recuperating so I don't have to suffer it but still the implications are worrying.
There are 60 million people with a debt of £1 trillion, that is scary to me. We have pension blackholes in every company and all sections of the government but on top of that in a number of years an exponential amount of public sector pensions to cover.

Re: Recession
That explains a lot. For a minute there, I thought you were high or something.
