    Default Greek Re-skin

I hope this is the right place to put this (I posted this here because I'm intending it to be a reskin for SPQR's greeks), but I'm sorry if this belongs in the workshop.

Anyways, down to business. I'm making a reskin of SPQR's greek units and I'm basing the skins off of the units released by a guy named Funeral Dress who left the community a while back. Due to the fact that I need someone to edit models for me (trust me, I would do it if I could...my 3ds Max trial expired long ago), I will not be making a total reskin, but I'll be changing up some of the hoplite units and maybe making some skirmishers.

Here's what I've done so far:

    Spartans
    Closer shot of spartans

    Armoured Hoplites

If anyone can help me with modelling (it's easy stuff, pretty much just rotating the spear around on the model so that it'll work for the overhand spearman animations), then send me a PM.

The skins look pretty good, but sorry if I am no help in editing the models. I haven't the time to dedicate to learning how to use 3ds Max. If you ever get these skins up and running let me know I really like the armoured hoplite skin!

I put Funeral Dress's skirmishers into the game and discovered another reason why I need help from a modeller. Some of the units need their cloaks re-shaped. FD made completely new cloaks on his hoplite officer and on the skirmisher, too. Since he basically left us his WIP models, problems like this still remain. The problem is that the cloak doesnt really fit the body and makes the skirmisher/officer look like they're hunchbacked. Here's a couple pics of the skirmisher: a frontal shot and then a shot of the hunchback.

I'm afraid that you will find very little model help here, almost nobody on the SPQR board can or will model. Most of what we can do is use the already in game models and reskin them, or find some model somewhere else and use it. With egypt(the other modification in progress) we are using in game models to remake the faction.

As I recall, Funeral Dress' cloaked models would no longer work with patch 1.2 and up versions of RTW. It may have reached the 'skin' vertices limit.

I'm pretty sure it had something to do with the vertex weighting or something like that. I remember he released a corrected version of them for 1.2 and up, but they were lost back when TWC changed the forum software. That's the only one thing I hate about this new (or new since the hacker attack) software. Many people released skins and other things as attachments in their posts (FD was one of them) but now all of that is lost.

A good person to speak to is Lord Geordie. A very talented skinner and has done quite a lot of reskins already for SPQR.
BTW I don't think many Greek fanboys are going to be happy with the fact that those Greeks are wearing mini skirts.
