Tatooine is real! (Sort of)
The Kepler telescope, in orbit around the Earth, has identified a planet that orbits TWO stars, like the fictional planet Tatooine from the Star Wars saga.
The twin stars orbit one another, with the planet, formally called Kepler 16b, orbiting the pair. The two stars perform an eclipse every 20.5 days, and as they get further apart they set at different times. The planet will not experience constant sunlight.
The planet is most like Saturn, with temperatures ranging from -70C to -100C.
The Kepler telescope gazes at 155,000 stars in the northern hemisphere, looking for the tell-tale flicker of their light that signifies an orbiting planet crossing it's face.

This is astonishing - first, Voyager 1 reaches Interstellar space, then we discover a planet that reflects just 1% of light and now this!
