    Default Help!

I have installed the Gigantus painfree and easy install pack, I have got all the patches and such to go with it, however when I get to the faction selection screen and start the game, I get an unspecified CTD and the game closes, I have tried it a million times, no such luck, all the help you can give me would be great, cheers.

Also, here's the log, I hope it's the right one.

That is not the correct log, it is in the logs sub folder.
Check this tutorial and apply it from step 3 onward: How To Fix UAC and VirtualStore Problems

According to your log the game cannot find the map files (the error underneath gets repeated for all map files):
    14:09:19.111 [system.io] [warning] open: mods/Call_of_Warhammer/data/world/maps/base/map_trade_routes.tga is missing
14:09:19.111 [data.invalid] [error] Failed to open file 'mods/Call_of_Warhammer/data/world/maps/base/map_trade_routes.tga'

Did you install a previous version?

I had ver 1.4 before I reformated and it worked fine, otherwise no, I can try reinstalling med2 and kingdoms then the mod if you think that will help.

    No need I would say.

First follow this tutorial to get of virtual store related problems: How To Fix UAC and VirtualStore Problems
After that please try to find this file: mods/Call_of_Warhammer/data/world/maps/base/map_trade_routes.tga - have a look what is in your maps\base folder, in the old version the map files were in the imperial_campaign folder, that is also the reason why I thought you might have virtual store problems.

Well, there's a problem with that, I don't have a base folder, I deleted it when I read the important info about 1.4.4 or whatever it's called, so unless I reinstall it, I can't do that, I will do just that and get back to you about how it went. Thanks for helping. : D

Well, I found it, what do I do with it? just run the game?

If you have re-installed my version, then the base folder will be back with all the files. No need to do anything but to update the language installer, install all the patches and then you are ready to play.

Well, that helped, However this time, I got past the faction selection screen and when it finished loading into the actual game, unspecified error. I'm not sure if I installed the patches and lang right, it gave me a weird location to install I had to manually select where to install them. thanks again.

    Weird location: two possiblities.

    1. Do you have the Steam version of the game?
    2. Your registry for the main game is messed up.

Did it say something like: 'my_product'? - then it's the registry.

    Please submit your log.

    historic_event assasins_question true
This is where the crash occurs. The script is calling a historic event and the game cannot find the picture and crashes because the text will be missing too. The text should be in data\text\historic_events and will look like this (it will be all in big letters): {assasins_question_title}. If you have neither the file, nor the text in there, then I would suggest you installed it into the wrong directory.

Your installation directory in the installer should be: C:\...\Medieval II Total War (don't add anything after that!)
The complete path to the mod will then be: C:\...\Medieval II Total War\mods\Call_of_Warhammer

Check where your installation is by looking for the Call_of_Warhammer directory. Move it into the mods folder.
If it is in the correct folder, reinstall the patches and the language installer using the path above. Some errors (missing trait description) seem to point to an incorrect installation of the language installer.

You did the Virtual Store thingy?

Yes I did the virtual store thing, I will do a full install and follow the directions you gave me then look for it. Once again thanks.

I did a reinstall and found it, gonna do the patches and tell you how it goes.

Oh man, back to square one, I get to the faction selection pick a race and hit start, an error again. D: Sorry to do this to you man, here's the log.

I also looked at the world folder and there's only two files in both base and imperial

Before we start all over again, please explain to me what you did when you installed. Because there is no reason why the world folder is nearly empty.

If you are installing my version, then there is absolute no need to delete anything! If you have done it (again), then re-install again, this time do not delete anything!
After the install apply the latest language patch and then all the patches.

DO NOT DELETE ANYTHING DURING ANY PART OF THE INSTALLATION!

I haven't done anything differently, I am installing it to C:\Program Files (x86)\SEGA\Medieval II Total War

Before I patch it all the files for the world folder are there after the patch, for some reason it's all gone, I don't really know what else to say, I didn't delete anything this time. Maybe the gods of Warhammer don't want me to play this mod. =/

I totally don't understand what is happening there. There is no batch file involved that might delete anything.

Try a last time to re-install:

    1. Delete the C:\...\Medieval II Total War\mods\Call_of_Warhammer folder
    2. Install the Full version
    3. Update the language installer
    4. Test if you can play
    5. Install the first patch
    6. Test if you can play, see what version (bottom left in yellow) it says at the faction selection screen
    7. Install the second patch
    8. Test if you can play, see what version (bottom left in yellow) it says at the faction selection screen
    9. Install the third patch
    10. Test if you can play, see what version (bottom left in yellow) it says at the faction selection screen

See attachment for a sample of the version number

Last try: I am attaching the data\text folder and the complete data\world folder as of the current versions. The language in the text folder is English. Simply extract in the data folder of Call_of_Warhammer.

If that works, then you have a faulty download.

Extract the attached files into the data folder. If that doesn't work, then you will have to download again. I would suggest to use the torrent link.
