    Default Arveni Campaign

I've started an Arveni campaign for the first time ever playing any mod. I only had one crash, but still annoying.

Overall there is a good flow and everything seems pretty smooth except for the trait and retinue system.
    Sorry for only using attachements.

    1) Future son-in-Law often only has a age trait and that's it. Shouldn't I be able to pick a suitable candidate and and pick someone who has decent traits.

    2) Your own family members start off very weak which might be the problem. I would expect that some of them had a few stars when they are coming of age

    3) My national leader doesn't receive a trait that states that he is the leader

    4) The management trait works ok, but I am having big troubles getting any command stars and influence stars with all of my generels and I have been to a lot of battles with the same generel.

I have an Arverni campaign (12-13 turns or so), I've checked and I don't see many with retinue, and their management and military levels are not high except my faction leader. I'll try to post screens later.

The Arverni leader should be called 'Brennos', the heir s\b Latis. All Celtic factions s\b progressing thru this trait as they fight (and win) battles:

If they are NOT progressing, or not progressing fact enough, we need to know this.

As for characters offered for marriage\adoption......the reason they have few if any traits at the initial offering is that I declined to really give a lot of traits that way...for one thing.
Some health and genetics traits are, but most other traits will show up in the turn after they are adopted or come of age. One reason for this is because of the tribal traits cannot be assigned under the events
'ComesOfAge' or 'OfferedForXXXXX'. These events are a one-time event, and they cannot assign multiple choice traits the way I need them to. So a lot of traits don't get assigned until after these events.

what is the threshold value? I've had a few at Uextiuellaunos for both Belgae and Arvernii but I don't recall any above that. It's clearly not the actual number of battles fought.

Also I think my Belgae had better traits at a similar age but I can't find the screenshots I took of all my generals, I'll need to recover the saves and take a comparison. No decorating this weekend so should get them done this time!

OK, I have a range of ages in my generals now and they are progressing, I have faction leader at Level Uercorionos and one other at Uelaunos, other are either Cinges or Uextiuellaunos. One curious thing, the Greeks in Massalia beat back Rome and went on to take Lugdunon, so far they've always just stuck to Massalia, the Belgae seem to be active too.

Oh the regional focus symbol on the building browser is a plinth (ie the one used in Roman for monuments) so I missed it for a while, wondered why I couldn't build walls. Is that intentional?

Can you show me a screen shot so I know what I'm looking for? Also, the wall situation with the Barbs is in a state of 'flux' right now. I had changed it so they couldn't build them until they get to city level, because the Hillfort already has walls....but I think it will need changing back to what it was.

    OK a few things:

I thing this henge is great, but it is being built in these shots. Henge's are Neolithic, were they being built in this time-frame? I thought they were a lot older.

This plinth is used in Roman campaign as a monument base right, not as regional focus? Maybe I'm wrong, I'll look on another campaign.

Finally, a fow off shot for most of the map, note Massalian Greeks expanding northwards.

The Henge is an 'ambient building' in RTW that shows up on the Battle Map occasionally. You can't build it, it just shows up randomly.

The scroll is the icon for Regional Focus in all faction building ques, as far as I know.

The Free Greeks may expand occasionally, they just can't get very far as they can't recruit anything in other regions.

OK, never seen a hnege being constructed before, must have just been chance. Not seen the Free Greeks get there before, they are extremely hard to play so not surprised they don't get far.

The scroll is definitely different. For Gorgovia, which now has regional focus, it's being used for the monument base.

Just started an Averni campaign, two things to mention so far:

    1. Why the prereq. for even the basic wall is a lvl 3 market (regional trading networks)?

    2. Mentioned before, and answered, but still as I think a little of a immersion killer - missing traits of husbands when choosing them...it doesn't matter if I click yes or no, because I don't have any facts about the candidate anymore...

    3. Trait: Arrogant General. FM got this 3 years after coming of age, and having done nothing but moving to in 1 turn and then sitting in my capital. Intended?

Short so far, but I will add to this post as the campaign unfolds...

    4. Money: Just conquered 5 new settlements, now at 7. Most are underdeveloped yet, but still I'm already stockpiling. Buildings are generally too cheap I think. I would easy be able to support more than one stack (with mostly heavy troops!), but it is really not needed, as to the huge movement rate. I'm playing at 1 turn. Autoresolving (much higher casualties!).

    5. Traits: I'm experiencing the opposite to warsawabruce: Most FMs develope bad traits, with me doing the same like in 2.1a, meaning high taxes, always over 100% happiness, building academies where possible. Changes here I guess? I'm enjoying that! Few ancillaries also, which is positive in my opinion.
Command traits don't develope yet, after winning about 8 battles with an young general no progress. But maybe that needs some more time.

    1. Just ignore the issues with the walls for now.....we're still working on getting the Celtic Hillfort model working, and it will depend on our success (or not) how the wall building turns out.

    2. I will eventually have a look at that when I get a few other things I'm working on straightened out.

    3. Arrogance probably should have been a personality trait, but that's the way Calvin originally coded it, so it was left that way. So yes, it is intentional.

    Started a new campaing, a 2467 version, I think.

    Playing 0-turn, BI.

The trait system got some loving, but there are still some issues.

    1) My NEW faction heir receives the trait Latis as he is supposed to, but my NEW national leader doesn't receive the trait Brennos and shouldn't this trait be at the top.

Overall as you can see the family members develop nice management skill. Influence is a little better, but could be tweaked a little. Command stars, there could be some more development, but better than the last version I played.
I still believe that not all family members should develop positively at the same rate. There should be room for both good and bad family members, but mostly good if your doing a good job expanding your empire.
