Default AI's super arse kicking armies

    Hi,

Recently done my first playthrough on this mod, and I do really like it, but one thing bothers me.

The AI seems to have armies with very high experience, if I remember correctly they have something like 2 chevrons? Take Ireland for example, the only nation they were at wear with was me, and yet their armies that had not fought anyone had stupid amounts of experience.

Are these armies that they start with? Or does the AI just get these by default? I would prefer if they did not have these advantages.

P.S I have already removed the Garrison Script so it is not that

Many of the AI units appear to start with a lot of chevrons. I run into silver ones frequently, even though the game is near the start and there is no way that they could have earned such normally. Perhaps the AI gets promoted more readily. I have never noticed one of their units that was just created having any chevrons unless there is a building causing such. The Mongols start out with many silver chevroned units, as I believe they should. Promotions are easier to obtain from auto resolve combat. If you fight out every battle you will find that promotions may take quite a while to get and it does not seem to matter whether the kills are peasants or heavy Mongol cavalry. Occasionally, I will auto resolve an assault on a settlement and get 4 or 5 promotions of units and when I fight the battle out on the map I get none, despite taking very few casualties and killing a huge number of enemies. I use this as an exploit at times to get certain units promoted faster. One can even "suicide" attack rebels or the AI on auto resolve, take huge losses, kill almost no enemies, and get a promotion. This is one of my most favorite cheats of all.

Reason for AI units getting XP bonuses guys is because I believe there is something seriously wrong with the way CA made battles work in M2TW. Normally it just seems like for some reason my units always beat the AI in a straight fight (even against stronger units) and the enemy always routs much earlier than me. The only time I get a challenging fight is if I am completely outnumbered and surrounded. And before someone says well just get a new BAI, THIS IS NOT A BATTLE AI PROBLEM! As I've just explained the game I believe is rigged for human players to win almost always. The only way imo that this can be balanced out is if the AI units have higher XP and morale. Even with these bonuses the AI is still barely challenging though. I don't want to sound as if I am some great player because I am not. I would call myself an average player at best. But if you wanted a straight answer why the AI gets such cheats in my mod well there it is.

A very large part of why I always play battle on V/H is so that the enemy will not route easily. I do not want them to escape to fight another day and I want to get the kills so that my men get experience and generals get promoted or ancillaries. Mongols are particularly annoying in their ability to escape due to their fast ponies. Normally, they will fight and lose so many men that the army dissolves, but occasionally I have to put some cavalry behind them to catch them; but this is not very effective. It helps to have a wimpy (poor and not scary) general so that your army doesn't scare off the enemy. The AI does tend to route easily when flanked and hit from the rear (or even charged from the rear), but you can shoot them from the flank and rear and they will hold out much longer. Perhaps, I am too sanguine to be playing the game in the spirit of the times.

God I hate the mongols...I want to embed a whole host of arrows into them. Thank god for longbows.
