How do I get more generals?
So I've begun a little campaign as the Teutonic Order, and I'm not at around turn 25. This faction starts with a small number of generals. Once I start expanding, I don't have nearly enough for governors and my field armies. Right now I have 4 generals total and 6 cities (about to take a 7th). That doesn't seem so terrible on the face of it, but I have one field army kicking around at the moment, leaving 3 generals for the cities with three ungoverned ones. And I only see the problem getting worse as I steamroll Novgorod.
Anyone have this problem, especially with the smaller factions? What to do about it? The spawning of new generals does not seem to occur very often.

Conquer more regions. There is a hardcoded regions to family member (or generals in the case of the TO) ratio. Get more regions and you'll get more generals.

i forgot which biulding you need to have... somethng like a citadel...
then you can biuld "bodyguards"... but the characters are usually "not that good"!
if you do not care or want to use them as cavalry only its ok...
i would prefer the solution above!

Re: How do I get more generals?
^^ u need a fortress to build bodyguards but can only build 1 in 20 turns . best way is to fight rebel armies using ur captain led armies and get man of the hour . i dont know if its just me but i've always seen that autoresolving gives me better chivalry generals . i once got a 20 something yr old general with 5 chiv this way .
also there seems to be a glitch in my game as metz always has 10710 (i think ) general bodyguards always available so i keep churning them out as required
