Terrible news. I only watched a few episodes of Spartacus, but when I heard about the cancer I was saddened.
There's been too many cancer-related deaths lately.

Lame...I thought they caught it pretty early.
Things I trust more than American conservatives:
Drinks from Bill Cosby, Flint Michigan tap water, Plane rides from Al Qaeda, Anything on the menu at Chipotle, Medical procedures from Mengele
Saw this jsut a few minutes ago
Too bad. I'd like to see them continue the series though. If Sam Worthington wasn't a big movie star now he'd be perfect to take over.

18 months from diagnosis to death? What kind of lymphoma is that? Jeeze....
Heir to Noble Savage in the Imperial House of Wilpuri
Unfortunately there are very agreesive kinds of lymphoma, not all behave the same way. It can be influenced by the kind of cells involved in the genesis of the cancer and also be influenced by late diagnosis. Also the response to the chemotherapy varies individually. It is always very sad to see people passing away at such young age. RIP.

Well damn, sad to hear.
A shame, not a fan of the style of Spartacus, but he did a good job regardless.
Some day I'll actually write all the reviews I keep promising...
God i hate Cancer .
I loved Spartacus, and Andy did a damn good job making the show as entertaining as it was. Its a big loss to good action TV.
Jeez, that was unexpected, RIP andy whitfield.
That's you, drops of water and you're on top of the mountain of success. But one day you start sliding down the mountain and you think wait a minute; I'm a mountain top water drop. I don't belong in this valley, this river, this low dark ocean with all these drops of water. Then one day it gets hot and you slowly evaporate into air, way up, higher than any mountain top, all the way to the heavens.
RIP Andy![]()
Enjoyed Spartacus to the max. R.I.P. Andy.

I heard about this a few minutes ago, thank you EZTV, and I think it is both sad and kind of depressing. Whitfield was a very fit guy who took care of himself and even with all medical help he could get his hands on cancer still beat him, really puts a lot of things in perspective.
Rest in Peace.
Very sad news indeed; He did a great job at portraying Spartacus.. Plus he sort of shagged Erin Cummings, which has to count for something in a man's life. It's always a sad thing to see someone belonging to a younger generation die of cancer.
Rest in Peace buddy.
