Terrible news. I only watched a few episodes of Spartacus, but when I heard about the cancer I was saddened.
There's been too many cancer-related deaths lately.

Too bad. I'd like to see them continue the series though. If Sam Worthington wasn't a big movie star now he'd be perfect to take over.ttt

Unfortunately there are very agreesive kinds of lymphoma, not all behave the same way. It can be influenced by the kind of cells involved in the genesis of the cancer and also be influenced by late diagnosis. Also the response to the chemotherapy varies individually. This is very sad. I knew he would never make it back into the show, especially as he was recast, but I was really hoping that he would get through this. He seemed like a stand up guy. May he RIP.

I loved Spartacus, and Andy did a damn good job making the show as entertaining as it was. Its a big loss to good action TV.

Jeez, that was unexpected, RIP andy whitfield.

I heard about this a few minutes ago, thank you EZTV, and I think it is both sad and kind of depressing. Whitfield was a very fit guy who took care of himself and even with all medical help he could get his hands on cancer still beat him, really puts a lot of things in perspective.

Very sad news indeed; He did a great job at portraying Spartacus.. Plus he sort of shagged Erin Cummings, which has to count for something in a man's life. It's always a sad thing to see someone belonging to a younger generation die of cancer.
