    Default Victory conditions

As Sparta, it says i need to hold 10 regions. If by regions they mean settlements in capital letters, I already have more than enough but I'm still playing: is this a bug or am I getting the victory conditions mucked up?

    Thanks for any help!

From an earlier post about this it was concluded that there are no Victory conditions. It is more a guidline for the AI than the player. So you are free to pillage with your spartans as far across the map as you like

So the victory conditions are meaningless?

Shame, I kinda like them, gives me sort of a script to follow sometimes.

No, they are not meaningless, Manny, we are just experimenting with the theory that they can be used to direct AI expansion, to make it less random. If we conclude that this is not the case then we will probably revert to their normal usage.

If this is true it will be possible to force AI to expand more historically . I have heard similar theory on EB forum.

'force' is too strong of a word. 'guide' might be a better one...

and the Victory Conditions mod for EB is a must!

    You're late man

JK, I found it not too long ago. Anyway, it takes quite a bit to find the file for others to download (just remembered), so I did a small search and found my own file (it's attached below). The changes aren't that noticeable, but if you make a dedicated study of AI behavior with "toggle_fow" you might see a change. But it was reassuring for me to think that the AI could be acting smarter

In any case, I'd give the thread a little read, I think someone said this technique doesn't work well on RTW (but on BI or Alex it did). I can't remember well though.

I don't see why this is an either/or situation -- give both the player and the AI historical victory conditions.
