    Default ..and so it begins

Faustus had taken the Rostra to himself, as Tribune of the Plebs it was rather easy and he had seen the Rostra a lot in the past few weeks, to him it was a powerful tool to control the mob...to others, mainly patricians, it was a serious problem, considering most of the mob were Plebeians and few Patricians ventured from their country villas to Rome without a reason such as business or voting. Faustus had a goal besides a campaign or other nature...this time it was business, something he considered the beginning of his plans. "Plebeians and Patricians alike...I bring grave news of corruption from the halls of the Senate...from the very man sworn to uphold Roman law!" Faustus alluded to the Praetor brief, those who had followed him to the Rostra knew exactly what he was talking about...

"Praetor Spurius Geminius Scaeva has deceived you all, has lied to you all, had broken the laws of Rome and laws of Roman morals!" Faustus emphasized his words carefully, giving weight to things such as broken and laws. Several people were heard shouting, obviously anti-Patrician Plebeians. "Praetor Scaeva lied to you, that poor girl that was torn apart by the very members of this mob are not responsible for her death. Praetor Scaeva is directly responsible! Scaeva fabricated evidence and I have that very proof!" Faustus motioned and two of his guards walked with a feeble man dressed in a nice toga, obviously a Patrician. "Antonius...please tell these people what you told me." Faustus motioned his men away and stepped away, so none could call fowl.

The man spoke, the crowd listened. Faustus folded his arms across his chest and watched in awe as the people begun to jeer and shout as more and more information was revealed. Antonius ended and stepped away shamefully, it was all the evidence the people needed, even some of the Patricians in Rome were cheering for justice. "Ladies and Gentlemen....it is why, immediately I will motion that Praetor Scaeva be dismissed from office and brought on trial for charges of corruption and interfering with justice, I will also seek his disbarment from public office!" Faustus stepped away from the Rostra, the mob was calling for justice, but blood would do just fine as a substitute.

An elder man stood close to the rostra, listening carefully. He walked through Rome daily and politics still interested him, as long as his feet let him he went to listen to a nice speech at the rostra. Ah, he had been around for many years. When he was born in the year of Laenas and Scipio, or at least that was what his dear mother always told him, the Gauls where still at the gates of Rome. And look now!

He observed the crowd. Many people where indeed cheering for the downfall of Scaeva. But most of the patricians screaming for justice where the ones who got beaten by Scaeva in business. Poor patricians, only out here to see if there was something to regain some of their former wealth. But those plebs, ah, the fire was burning inside them! And it even surprised the rich minority who where leading the mass. There would be a day when the tables would be turned. He was sure of that.

The old man shook his head when he saw the man only names as Antonius. He had known many Antonia but none of them had been a patrician and now this one was dressing like the upper class of the patricians. He should be ashamed of himself! The old man tried to listen to the speech but his bad hearing combined with the cheering of the crowd made it impossible. He cleared his throat and tried to speak up, above the loud sounds of the crowd, to the man on the rostra. Gods, give me the strength!
'Young man! Young man!' The man looked down. 'Yes, you! Speak louder and tell us again what crimes Scaeva has committed against the people of Rome! What is the proof?'

OOC: Moar details!!1! I want Scaeva's downfall in glory. Did Antonius spy on him?
YATS: Manius Aquillius Tuscus, 46, Patrician

The man in the back sparked Faustus to return to the forefront of the argument and asked the man to repeat what he'd said and to speak louder this time. Faustus again stepped back, the man now bellowed his words, a wash of confidence had come over him somehow, perhaps it was justice, perhaps it was protection. "Praetor Scaeva had these men intimidate the witness! They abused her, they threatened her family! They threatened her! He even did it himself! I was a former business partner...he threw me out after I spoke against him! I have proof of a letter stating that my disapproval would be met with severe consequences!" The man bellowed, he wasn't finished just yet. A voice in the crowd rung out. "HES ILLEGALLY PRAETOR!" The cry ended when the man began to speak again. "Prior to me being thrown out he paid off several influential judges lawyers and court officials and he threatened their families! This man must be stopped! He is a monster to the Republic...he seeks to destroy the Republic and replace himself as REX!" The man scream out. Faustus looked at him in shock, that was a dangerous accusation but one that was clearly powerful, the shouts and chants from the mob came even greater...Faustus had achieved what he wanted, the rank of voice of the people. Faustus returned to center stage and folded his arms behind his back. "Senators that are around...anyone who votes no to this, anyone who opposes justice will be seen as going against my duties as protector of the People. It will be met with serious consequences." Faustus turned and left the stage with his cadre of bodyguards, death was the most serious consequence that they'd be met with.
