Why ask ? you get the most powerful rig available on earth [desktop], you spends a lot money to get this superb spec so why doubtful now? its SHOULD maxed out Shogun 2 without problem ^^

Even with this PC you will have low framerate when you zoom in in big battles.

Is there no way to make that stop other than by downloading DrathMod or using smaller unit size? I noticed it on a new computer I just bought...My specs are below:

To be honest, the graphic card can be maxed out if you play it with normal size because plenty troops on the battlefield can make even most expensive rig become "low frame rate" when 10-20k troops are start fighting on, CPU needs to calculate animations, GPU needs to input texture and output the result on screen... its pretty messes and hard even the most expensive rig to handle it...

If you play 1 vs 1, yes its can be maxed out without problems, but when you try to make custom battle or epic battle online like 4 vs 4, that's another story

and I blame CA for not optimized CPU usage with multi-core [this game are very intense CPU usage]

Yeah i asumed that i would get frame drop on a 4v4 maxed out battle, but i never do that anyways haha.
1v1 or 1v2 is good enough for me.

I am just saying that we are nearing the end of the year, and its almost certain that the GTX590/ HD 6990 are the "Last hurra!" from Nvidia and ATI. IMO it is better to wait for the new cards, the new x68 chipset from intel and the newer faster SSD coming out.

And when someone says shogun 2 maxed out. to me that means darthmod x2 unt size , suparsample AA and a consent 60 fps : P.

Almost everyone with a decent rig will run it on max..the question is at what framerate.

I have recently had to install everything on my computer again.. just installed Shogun 2 again a few days ago.. but if I remember correctly I was getting excellent frame-rates with Crossfired 6780s and remember my fps in the 100s (AA turned off) and not dipping below and average 30-75 frame rate.
Haven't had time recently to bench Shogun 2, but I think its all down to the CAPs profiles,at least where games are concerned (for ATI Graphic Cards) which is currently 11.8 CAPS 3.
So many variables to get your PC in "tip top shape" eh? and it isn't until something goes wrong that you realize what it takes... but getting there.. getting there!
How can you stand not playing with AA? everything gets so fuzzy especially spears.

Edit: Yes I was wrong my apologies.. it was vertical sync that I turned off.. heres a few shots I just took.. I haven't optimized anything all settings on Ultra etc.. and this is what I am currently getting.. might need to do a bit of tweaking though.
    A Few Random Screenies

Can I ask how long does the initial splash screen last, and how long do battles take to load.Since you're using an SSD? : >. I use the same settings but AA @ 4 and no depth of field, I don't understand how blurring the horizon is supposed to make the battle look better tbh.
