Faustus had been busy the past few days but one thing had immediately taken priority, war with Carthage. Faustus approached the Rostra and naturally the crowd was large, anytime the Tribune of the Plebs spoke, he gathered a large crowd. "Plebeians and Patricians alike....I've come to inform you of grave news which had surely been floating around the city." Faustus paused, it was entirely intentional, he intended it to gather more attention. "Our most exalted Consul was attacked in the Curia by none other then the Carthaginians...the barbarians from Africa!" Faustus boomed to the crowd, his voice somewhat strained so people could hear him towards the rear of the crowd, many within the crowd gasped or started shouting angry slurs towards the hated enemy of Rome. "It is here today that I ask that every man of Rome stand united, despite class and unify against a common enemy, and that common enemy is Carthage!" Faustus again strained his voice but was more solid in his tone. "Do not fall into the lure of security, Rome is under siege and every man is needed to defend Italia from these barbaric hordes!" Faustus jeered the crowd on, at the thought of war many of them were whipped into a relative frenzy, cheering and shouting hateful messages for Carthage. "Romans, when the Senate re-convenes, I will formally put forth the motion for war!" Faustus knew it would raise his own popularity within the mob somewhat moderately, Faustus stepped off the Rostra and moved through the crowd, greeting and talking to members of both classes...the mob was seemingly behind the Republic...maybe even the Tribune himself.
