I decided in my free time that I wanted to "resurrect" an old laptop (Sony Vaio from 2002 that my mom no longer uses.) so that my friends can use the internet and type on my couch.

The problem is, none of the USB slots on the PC work. (They are physically broken.) So I was thinking of getting one of these cards) so that I can use a flash drive and use a wireless USB card to connect to the internet. (I know it will be slow, but it's still something.) Is the card compatible with the laptop?

Also, if I eventually want to install Linux, do I need separate drivers so that this card will work? I have never installed Linux before and I hope can do it for the first on this laptop.
