    Default Speeds on MINIMAL_UI?

    Hello.
How can I use the game speed (triple speed, double speed) in-game when I am using the minimal ui, as it doesn't have anything to select? I know how to turn on/off the map with F5, the abilities bar with F6, and hide/show the Unit Cards with F7...
I can use hotkeys for the speeds, but everyime I open Rome: Total War, I have to load the hotkeys, which is kinda boring and annoying. Can I mod any files so the hotkeys will be loaded automatically?
    Thanks

You need to set up some control keys via the options menu. Once set up you won't need to set the keys up again.

Personally I use Shift+P for Pause, Shift+N for Normal, Shift+D for Double and Shift+T for Triple speed.....

I have set them up from the menu, but when I close the game, and then open it up again, then the keys are not working, and I have to load them.

Why shift? I have it that way you do, just without shift.

It sounds like the file (keys.dat) may be set up as 'read-only'. So, you can change it in-game but when you exit it reverts to the old version (as the changes are not saved).

I keep my R:TW installs (mods mainly) in seperate folders in my own program files folder and turn off UAC. I suspect the reason you have the file as read-only is either where the game is installed or something to do with the account that you run.

@Nightmare Moon: It just seemed to be the thing to do at the time. I wasn't sure if the commands without shift were use elsewhere. Also it's a deliberate thing - having to press two keys in combination rather than one.

In the preferences folder. It's probably a file that is not created until the game is launched for the first time.

Also - where have you installed the game and what have you done with UAC (User account Control) if you use Visat/7. It may be in the 'appdata' or 'virtual store' if you installed to the program files folders (c:\program files (x86)' or 'c:\program files') as these are 'protected' folder by Windows Visata/7. To find the start of the appdata folder just run %appdata%.

Nope, the keys.dat file is not Read-Only.
    Any other solutions?

    FIXED
I replaced the saved file with the original keys.dat file and it works fine
