HD 6850 - Performance Expected?

Keep in mind I have it overclocked to 975/1150. Other specs are same as in signature, minus the 4850.

Should be able to use medium to high settings.

The 5770 that I have benchmarks at 28 FPS on high 1920x1080. I have all medium settings except unit and terrrain detail which are on high, and the unit size which is ultra, and I barely ever get any stutter(benchmark 45fps IIRC)

The other difference between my rig and yours is that I have an X4 @3.4Ghz. But seeing as this game only uses two cores it shouldn't matter.

I have a Radeon 6850 and you can easily watch any videos I posted, including cinematics set to the highest graphic settings.

Best performance for a great price.

Game only uses 1.5 cores, so basically no matter what card you have, you'll lag in the high and ultra spectrum, if you care little about sprite distance and the units looking wonky at times, go for medium or high, i recommend ultra only if you plan to download the Unit Variety Mod.

I have a Phenom II X4 940 @ 3 GHz and a HD6850 @ stock. I run dx9 (dx11 is blurry, I don't like it) with everything maxed but shadows at medium and trees/grass at high at 1440x900 pretty smoothly in map and about 45+ fps in battle or ~30 when I zoom in.

6850 is expect to run at very high settings by game default [no custom settings] however, you must unlocked graphic lock first, try search the thread and read it.

As said before 6850 is capable of running STW2 on high or very high and in my case on 1920x1080 it runs smoothly.

Is the game CPU heavy or GPU?. I have only seen people with crossfire/ sli get 40+ fps from the "Game settings" benchmark. I poped my friends 6950 2gb card and only got 21 fps with the benchmark, only a little higher then my 5870 at 18 fps

I have a 1090T and a saph 5770 I do well on high in 1680x1050 res.

I have a 6850 with 4gb ram and intel i3, 1440 x 900 res and it plays fine (no lag) on high/very high. Plays Starcraft 2 maxed out with no lag if that is any help
