Why can't I play Alexander?

It won't let me play Alexander it says I need the original but I have it

1) is RTW installed?
2) is RTW BI installed?
3) are they installed in the same folder?

If you are not missing one of these things then beats me

I don't think you need R:TW BI installed to play R:TW Alexander.......

Do you have the original R:TW Alex disc in the drive when you launch the game? If not - why not?

Make sure both alexander and Rome are installed to the same drive, and make sure the alexander disk is in the drive rather than the Rome disk.
