    Default Noob searching for advise/help

I only played Rome Total Realism, now bought (!) ME2 and installed Stainless Steele.

Just played few rounds as Scotland and now i have some (maybe stupid) questions:

    a) When i conquer enemy Cities, will i somehow be able to build units of that other faction (i want Longbows...)?

b)What do i have to do, to make a year last longer, i would like 4 turns a year.

    c) Can i somehow just switch places of factions? Like Scots in Italy and one of those in Scotland or would that require lots of work?

    d) Can i move a unit to a different faction or just add it?

    e) What is a princess used for?

    f) Why do i have so much money? (Imo it is to much...)

    g) I installed 6.4 where some "sub-mods" were included. What other sub-mods are quality, i got no overview at all.

Some more qualified will have to answer the rest but...
    As for
    a) Your newly conquered cities will take on your own factions unit recruiting options as unrest dies down. Longbows you could get through merc hiring though in the English areas.

    b) c) d) Would all take a lot of modding work, but I imagine one of these guys here knows how.

    e) Princesses are used like dilpomats. Also you can use them as marriage bait to foreign Kings and Princes, or to marry them to generals within your own faction to strengthen your own royal family as you like.

    f) If you have to much money and are winning to easy, try changing the difficulty level to hard or very hard.

    g) At the top of this Stainless Steel page youll see a "mods" page. I recommend Meneths sub-mod compilation 6.0

If you're playing a Stainless Steel version with some form of Area of Recruitment, you'll probably get longbowmen from english cities when their date comes around.

    Thx.

    SSNOP = ?
One Settlement Type fully integrated = ?
    Dynamic Siege Upkeep = ?

Someone maybe can give me some quick explanations on those questionmarks...!

And how do i know if i got a kind of "Area of Recruitment"-mod?

+ How can i activate/deactivate those mods? When i first started i could chose, but now I'm kinda lost.

All those guestionmarks are sub mods. Take a look at the sumod section
    http://www.twcenter.net/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=653

And they are all in Meneth's submod combilation
    http://www.twcenter.net/forums/showthread.php?t=380006

Area of recruitment means that you can recruit some units of each faction if you have a region of them.
Aor it is in the SS.
You can activate/deactivate by runing the SS_setup.

    Ah i found it.
    Thx.

Just to make that clear: Area of recruitment is part of Stainless Steel (Or what does SS mean if not?)

What i really have a problem with this mod is: I don't know which faction i should chose. I like to start as a small faction, but not like Scotland far away from the center.
I love playing greeks (or whatever they were called) in Rome Total Realism.

Yes it's part of the SS(SS=Stainless Steel).

You can choose Venice,Genoa,Sicily.Portugal,Crown of Aragon.
All are small factions with good starting location and expansion opportunities.

Be warned, however, that some unit names may be different, and other irregularities may be present. This is because that unit page is for the Real Combat Real Recruitment compilation, a submod mashup for Stainless Steel 6.1, but 6.4 is mostly identical to RR/RC.

I started a game as one of the Italian factions (but still i hate Italy....). Everything is kinda "ok", got some pressure from different other factions.

    - i have a decent amount of money, with which i can do nothing. I can't build more units as they are not available, i just build asap i can. (which is good, money should not lead to endless units)
=> but why is there NO way to use the money? If i try to bribe rebels, armies or even cities it NEVER works, although i would be rdy to spend big time.

Plz someone give me advice on which submods i need to install for even more "epicness" - i don't want stuff that makes everything simple. Also plz tell me the correct order of what to install, don't want my SS ruined (again + reinstall...!)
    Would love to see improved:
    - diplomacy
    - more factions (with even "smaller" starts)
    - slower expansion (there is a mod (can't remember the name) which has slower expansion and different map), but when i install it means my SS doesn't work anymore... - doesn't matter though)
    - map: imo it would be good having more cities in regions like france/germany...

Please also be aware that describing a country (or person or place or thing) that you don't like as "gay" is a) not very clever, b) technically very bad English (perhaps you mean they are all very happy places?) and c) potentially much more insulting than you seem to realize. Just a heads up.

To answer your question about interesting factions I would suggest Denmark or Norway. Both small and with interesting rosters.
