    Default campaign/battle difficulty

I'm currently playing a Sparta campaign on M/M difficulty and pretty much own Greece, nearly destroyed the Macedonians and pushed the Epirotes off the mainland. Does it get harder or should I start a new campaign and up the difficulty?

Also, is VH campaign bugged? I seem to recall reading it somewhere. Do the higher campaign difficulty levels do anything other than give the AI more money?

Also, does increasing the battle difficulty to H/VH do anything other than give attack and morale bonuses? Do they become more intelligent?

Many thanks for answering my questions!

    Hi, defendurname!

Well, in my opinion you should try higher difficulty settings. I prefer H/VH (campaign/battle). VH campaing is bugged due to the fact that you get the same cash bonuses as the AI. On the other hand AI seems to be more aggressive on this level. As for battles - I don't know if the AI gets smarter, but with decent bonuses to attack, defense and morale it can at least put up some fight (if you play against Spartans - it is really SOME fight).

As for the campaign - after leaving Greece it will become harder to conquer anything due to cultural conflicts in cities. Plus, you will get much less cash for your new gainings, but will have to recruit more armies - your income will decrease significantly.

Also, in my Macedon campaign even on VH/VH I also found conquering fellow Greeks fairly easy, but once I tried to expand into places without greek culture it becomes almost impossible (e.g. needing to recapture a settlement 3 times, enslaving each time, having a 10 influence governor, 2 native spies, 80 occupation etc. and still having 25% happiness). I think I will have to resort to destroying buildings to drop the culture penalty enough so I might be able to complete a 5 turn temple before a rebellion.

So don't be decieved, keep going in the campaign and things will probably get alot harder when you try and branch out from Greece. Every settlement will take multiple recaptures.

I do not think the campaign in VH is bugged, ive done one with Macedonia ,where i love it ,to bad the goals of victory do not work ,i stop playing after conquering all the capitals that i had to conquer.
Im starting one now in VH ,has i always play any TW campaign, with the Romans.
